magneto Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Coming in thick and fast off the back of a tough night in Europe for our boys is the first return visit to Anfield of former boss Brendan Rodgers. They're real top 4 contenders this season given the way they've started. This is the last match before another unnecessary and stupid international break. We drew last season at Anfield (remember the slush/sleet?). Hopefully we can get a win and keep our 100% record. My Team (drop Gomez, Hendo and Gini): AdrianTrent Matip VVD RobboFabinho Milner OxSalah Firmino Mane
Barnesy_10 Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 That midfield? No chance. This is a must win, especially off the back of last night.Hendo was crap and hopefully is fully aware of it and will be wanting to get back out there and redeem himself. I'd stick with same team as Sheffield United. But give everyone a kick up the a*** behind the scenes and have Trent and the rest in defence examine Vardy and their attack and anticipate being run ragged
muleskinner Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Henderson looks like he is carrying a knock.
magneto Posted October 3, 2019 Author Posted October 3, 2019 Kick off is 3pmYes, sorry, I keep forgetting to subtract an hour as I'm 1 ahead of UK
Stevie H Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Vardy likes runs in that left channel so we could do with being a bit tighter than last night.
Swipe Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 (edited) Matip gonna be fit? (Looking forward to the hilarious jokes) Edited October 3, 2019 by Swipe
muleskinner Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Vardy likes runs in that left channel so we could do with being a bit tighter than last night.Targeting the space behind our full backs is defo going to happen on Saturday. We just need to do the same to Chilwell.
Gethin Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Matip gonna be fit? (Looking forward to the hilarious jokes) Would you insert him if he was? (you're welcome)
Hassony Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I think Milner may start ahead of HendersonMilner did well last night, but I still think that he should be his job for this season rather than starting games I'd play ox in place of hendo, but obviously we don't know how Ox is performing in training
Jarg Armani Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Henderson is the same as Matip, you don't realise what they've been adding til they're out. I'd throw Alisson back in and keep the rest as is, CL Final team.
Earl Hafler Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Henderson is the same as Matip, you don't realise what they've been adding til they're out..Often the case but he was poor last night and Leicester have the talent to replicate the type of counters that we saw from Salzburg last night There are periods in play when Trent has to support Hendo defensively and when Mo should retain possession and allow the team to press up together; last night was like having a basketball style clock on the play Leicester are a decent team but have weaknesses if we're more patient, frustrate them and force the errors. Obviously that's easier if we employ City tactics and score early
Dan Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Let's not forget how utterly devastating we were last night for 40 minutes. More of that please.
Cam Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Leicester are a typical Rodgers team in that they're very quick to break. A slow Milner is an accident or yellow card waiting to happen. And a still-not-100% AOC won't help. It will have to be Henderson-Fabinho-Wijnaldum and I was surprised they started last night.
D.Boon Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Henderson is the same as Matip, you don't realise what they've been adding til they're out. I'd throw Alisson back in and keep the rest as is, CL Final team.Indeed. I'm not having it that he was crap last night. On form a much, much better player than the possible replacements.
cymrococh Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I hope Rodgers watched that and decided to have a go at us.
PaulMcC186 Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I don't think Leicester had scored many before Sunday. 8 I think it was before Sunday but can't be bothered checking the table. They've been better at defending than scoring this season.
épieur Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I hope Rodgers watched that and decided to have a go at us. a possession-based go.
Earl Hafler Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I hope Rodgers watched that and decided to have a go at us.Oh aye. I hope his ego plays havoc with his tactics Henderson looks like he is carrying a knock. That could be it. He was certainly playing with more pace and enthusiasm at the end of last season.
muleskinner Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 We've a 2 and half year unbeaten home record to protect, be f***ed if he's the man to break it.
kop205 Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I hope Rodgers watched that and decided to have a go at us.Yeah, was thinking the same

kop205 Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Oh aye. I hope his ego plays havoc with his tactics. This too
stressederic Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Rodgers' teams in England have always been like this, apart from the mad season with Suarez Were any of Rodgers' teams with us better at defending than scoring?
