who knows about cars?

c*** of a vehicle has been giving me aggros all summer - in and out of the repair shop. Today they tell me the head gasket has blown and I need a new engine. f***'s sakes. That's 11 grand.

 

They've sealed it up for now, so I can perhaps try to flog it and buy something under warranty or I can go for the new engine. It's straight from the factory so has 0 miles on it. I don't know whether they then re-set the mileage but are there any drawbacks to a new engine?
