Don’t think there was anything contentious in the game, was an easy one for him

True, some refs though would have made it more about themselves especially seeing how VAR was making its premiership debut

Oliver is very good but agree, easy game for him.

Wonder if stats will be compiled about how many times refs get over ruled by VAR. I guess they will.

yet got the single biggest decision wrong?

It was an easy game to ref, but towards the end  she got far too whistle happy.

Biggest two decisions wrong - Their pen & our pen. Trent's booking was bobbins too.

To be fair, if the VAR people were worth their salt they would have helped her with the two penalties, not her fault she was hung out to dry by them.

I think If she'd given our pen and not allowed theirs VAR would have backed her on that too

They've really made an absolute dogs dinner of VAR, there were 3 or 4 major issues on Saturday as well. It needs to be the referee calling for assistance rather than an always on option. It's going to fundamentally change the game. The cynical part of me wonders how long until it's sponsored and we have picture in picture ads while we wait on the decision.

Isn't VAR there to help her? Especially on the first one

if that Man U pen against PSG is given (and it shouldn't but was) then tonights one is a penalty all day long. Still a pen though making the body bigger etc.

UEFA didn't want var to overrule her because of different reasons joe Cole said, and he was right.

Basic stuff like throws and goal kicks even went the wrong way.

I may be wrong but if the ref says pen, can't VAR say NO?

I know that like in the PSG-MU game VAR overruled the ref and said pen, surely VAR can say hey ref - NO, you got it wrong?

Most decisions will be linesmen over-rules for offside won't they? So not just the refs.

Atrocious refereeing. This experiment should not be repeated.

You're of the opinion her performance was based on her gender?

Great that women are officiating. Absolutely no reason not to.

I dont care if a goat refs it, just get things right and treat them the same as male refs, if she made a mistake yesterday then var should have stepped in but it didnt, twice because they didnt want to on this big occasion they had created by going on about the first female ref blah blah blah.

I thought she was poor, hardly blew her whistle, missed obvious things like throws and goal kicks going to the wrong team and got 2 penalties wrong

True, but what was the biggest game that she has reffed prior to last night?

The refs at the women's world club were really bad overall
