oakie bob Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 I can't watch the game in Kent as I will end up fighting some Spurs/Aresnal/Chelski/Manc fan, so decided to make this my 1 a year visit back home, so any decent pubs in the city centre to watch.
Benzo-13 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 I went to Camp & Furnace for the semi and it was great.
DecidedByPoll Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 I went to Camp & Furnace for the semi and it was great. Is it not ticketed? And sold out?
Benzo-13 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Is it not ticketed? And sold out?Ah Jaysus didn’t know. I was just over from Dublin.
Tosh Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 I've got to be in Paris - I assume I find an Irish bar in order to watch the match, unless anyone has a better suggestion

Molby Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 (edited) I've got to be in Paris - I assume I find an Irish bar in order to watch the match, unless anyone has a better suggestionYeah there’s a good few Unless the cycling or some s*** rugby match is on instead Remember to remortgage your house if you’re having a few pints Edited May 30, 2019 by Molby
Gethin Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 (edited) Yeah there’s a good few Unless the cycling or some s*** rugby match is on instead Remember to remortgage your house if you’re having a few pints Final day of the Giro and rugby Top14 playoffs are still going on - but the Giro will be done by late afternoon and there's no evening rugby matches, so shouldn't be any barrier to watching it in a pub with expensive pints.... Sion Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 (edited) I went to Camp & Furnace for the semi and it was great. Camp and Furnace are going to struggle now they've lost a lot of support with the Jonny Bongo argument. I'd probably head to Concert Square or Matthew St if you want somewhere in town. But both will be rammed. Edited May 30, 2019 by Sion
Rovingronrobyrugbyreporter Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Lad in work has paid £20 to get in the Bierkeller, to sit is an extra £20 and, unsurprisingly, its sold out.
Senrab_nhoj Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Camp and Furnace are going to struggle now they've lost a lot of support with the Jonny Bongo argument. I'd probably not head to Concert Square or Matthew St if you want somewhere in town. But both will be rammed. Was absolute bedlam there last year.
bsl Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 You'd need to get in somewhere about mid afternoon in Matthew St/Concert Square, and even then it'd be rammed and murder getting served.
cymrococh Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Depends what you're looking for really, if you want space, comfort and an easily accessible bar then go somewhere out of town. If you want mayhem and easy access to on-street celebrations with loads of others then get to town early and buy big rounds.
kop205 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Even a lot of out of town places will be rammed I'd imagine.
Molby Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Maybe try places with a terrible reputation.Yeah, The Western Approaches A lot of times people don’t come out of there alive
scoose Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Yeah, The Western Approaches A lot of times people don’t come out of there alive Haha - me mates da was in there years ago when the roof fell in. I spent new year in there once. Not one of my better decisions
Bigal Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 The one in Norris Green. Me granddad used to go in here all the time.
scoose Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 The one in Norris Green. Me granddad used to go in here all the time. yep - that's the one
oakie bob Posted May 31, 2019 Author Posted May 31, 2019 not going to get to town till at least 5, will take my chances in any pub
Bigal Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 yep - that's the one spent many an hour in the back of the car with some pop and crisps as we werent allowed in there. And then my granddad would buy us some sweets from the fella in there, with like added A numbers and that
DecidedByPoll Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Reckon the best bet might be smaller pubs a little more round the fringes, Dispensary, Pilgrim (unless it’s still run by a BNP k****ead), Grapes, Crown, Dr Duncan’s, Excelsior, James Munro, Shenanigans,
Raj Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 I’m going first national. Went there last year. Loads of screens. And it’s free
