Molby Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Tricky game against a team that's defending well the main issue is replacing Firminothe thought of playing a 4-3-3 with Sturridge filling in is really depressing; I take it nobody wants that to happen so back to the same question I've asked several times before: (I'm kind of a big deal on here) will the manager change the attacking formation to suit the players available? if he does, there might be a bit of a crisis/opportunity thing going on here with Salah and Mane up front and Keita in a free role behind themor if we wanted Origi up front with Mane then Salah deeper, like he was for a spell against Brighton, which worked well
Cam Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 A midweek game against Watford should be an opportunity to rotate; a chance to play a Lallana or a Moreno. But we can't really afford to. As Molbz says... it's basically:a) Keita behind Mane & Salahb) Origi with Salah & Manec) Shaqiri in with Salah playing centre-forward Rest of the team picks itself (depending on the Keita choice).
Tommok Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Yesterday shows it has to be either Keita or Shaq in for Firmino and not Origi or worse still Sturridge.
Hightown Phil Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Diamond midfield, Mane and Salah up front please. Shaqri, Keita, and then two of Henderson, Fabinho and Wijnaldum and I don’t care which two. Just not Sturridge.
Earl Hafler Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 I want both Keita and Origi to start and I think we could rest Gini for the derby
Molby Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 I want both Keita and Origi to start and I think we could rest Gini for the derbyhmm, I was thinking about Gini becoming a secret weapon for us, if accompanied by Fabinho and Henderson in MF, whereby he breaks beyond the forwards or arrives in the box quite often
Case Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 I’d be tempted to play Gini behind Mane and Salah
Earl Hafler Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 hmm, I was thinking about Gini becoming a secret weapon for us, if accompanied by Fabinho and Henderson in MF, whereby he breaks beyond the forwards or arrives in the box quite oftenI see that but I think we’ll need all hands on deck for the remaining fixtures, so I’d give those two a start.
Conrad Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 (edited) this isn't on telly is it? I dont think we rest anyone assuming bobby out You go 4-4-2ishand bring in Keita for Bobby TAA for Milner And be nice if Robertson upped his game too, as we rely a lot on our full backs Edited February 25, 2019 by Conrad
Euphrates Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 this isn't on telly is it? It'll be on the internet though, cos it's definitely on NBC sports. Try footybite.com
Cobs Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 v Watford Allisson TAA Matip VVD Robbo Lallana Fabinho Keita Shaq Mo Mane v Everton Allisson TAA Matip VVD Robbo Hendo Fabinho Wijnaldum Keita Mo Mane
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Let's go out fast & hard. Back to last season stuff, get the crowd rocking & take that into Sunday
dorgie Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Graham Scott is ref for this (Martin Atkinson refffing the derby next Sunday)
dorgie Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 who?https://goo.gl/images/Z2Fg2F Apparently we have won all 5 games he’s reffed us before.
Andy-oh-six Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 https://goo.gl/images/Z2Fg2F Apparently we have won all 5 games he’s reffed us before. No memory of him so either he's decent or has only made crap decisions in our favour. Atkinson in the Derby? That's Everton with licence to maim and decapitate.
Conrad Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 v Watford Allisson TAA Matip VVD Robbo Lallana Fabinho Keita Shaq Mo Mane lallana and shaqiri - i hope not. lallana's legs are gone. we need to beat watford. they are 7th, a decent side. go full strength.
Cam Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Lallana's a great sub to have if we're protecting a narrow lead and coming under the cosh. He's arguably the best in the squad at holding the ball up and making it stick. But he's not someone who's going to assist or score for us though. If Lallana plays, if the rubbish Keita turns up & hides, if Mo is lacking and if the Firmino change is Origi/Sturridge then it'll be like playing with 7 men.
RedHarvest Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 I wouldn't rest Gini for this, him and Fab are our most in form midfielders, and this is a must win. He can come off for Lallana after we're 4 up
Bootle Buck Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Watford are in decent form and scored 5 on the weekend. Strongest team possible.
growler Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 No resting anyone. What was the point of the last 6 weeks then? They’re rested. Get them on the pitch our rhythm back and start scoring goals.
Bailo Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 I think Scott is good. And Watford are no mugs.
Case Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 And be nice if Robertson upped his game too, as we rely a lot on our full backsI really don’t get the fact you think less of Robbo than almost everyone on here.
