Played in a charity football game in Widnes this morning - guy who used to play for my team his daughter died at 7 months so raising money for them.

 

I turned up just before kick off, lad playing centre mid for us was superb, left footer. I said afterwards ‘that Ste was a good player’. Turned out it was Stephen Warnock.

 

What a lovely lad he is, really down to Earth, slogged it out on a muddy pitch and donated a load of gear.

I think if I’d been there on time I’d have recognised him, but just ran onto the pitch for KO. Stanley it was at Fords you probably know it. There was another pro playing, he stayed off the team photo so he didn’t get in trouble

It was pretty much one defender yesterday! Charity game so pretty much a 1-3-6 formation all round!

Fair play to him and unidentified pro for getting involved. Speaking from my own experiences, it’s a big lift to the family when you get that buy-in. Well done to all involved.
