Been in Switzerland this last weekend with Mrs.C and my two daughters. Had a  generally lovely time together but I have to say that it was all a bit underwhelming as a place to visit. We actually stayed in Evian in France and commuted to the various Swiss places we wanted to get to around Lake Geneva. On Saturday we got the train from Evian to Geneva itself. Went early on to have a full day in the city, return train 9:20 in the evening (from a different station to one we arrived at - don't know why, that's just the way the fares/timings/arrangements worked out). Tickets all booked through the trainline. We walked to the station in the evening to get back only, to find that it was a construction site and that there were absolutely no trains running from there at all. And checking a wee bit later I found out that it had been shut for rebuilding and refurb for months How the feck the trainline was selling tickets for it I have no idea.

When I have a bit of time at home later this week I shall be having some serious conversations with them - especially as the only alternative to the non-train was a 140 euro taxi fare..

Bunch-a-canutes.
