Need to bring Gomez back in to cope with the pace of their fully operational front line

Their over confidence is their weakness

And your faith in Joe Gomez is yours

Yes

but they’re selling them on the PSG site

So many of ours don’t have tickets ... if they all just bought them in the PSG end we could literally take over their Curve A or something

My train is currently making its way through the French countryside so I’ll see you Weds

Okay permutations:

Win and we're through to the knockout stages.

Draw and we must beat Napoli

Lose and we must beat Napoli by two clear goals.

Do I have that right?

Mane a doubt with illness.

FFS. I’d much rather any of you in this board had his illness instead. Why can’t stuff like that be arranged.

I’m eating and drinking all kinds so might still happen

Does everyone like snails? About to load up

Also Picon biere (lager with orange liquor)

Not having Mane is a bit of a disaster

Double Agents

In advance of our second meeting on Wednesday, YNWA looks at the careers of those who have represented both PSG and the reds.

Up front

Paris-born Nicolas Anelka struck five times in 22 reds games while on loan at Anfield from Paris Saint- Germain, arriving in December 2001. He scored once in twelve games for PSG before joining Arsenal for £500,000 in February 1997, aged just seventeen. He returned to Paris for £22m in July 2000 after an unsuccessful spell with Real Madrid, notching eighteen times in 56 games in this second spell, being appointed club captain for a while, but falling out with two head coaches. He moved on permanently to Manchester City for £13m in June 2002.

David N’Gog signed from Paris St. Germain for £1.5m in July 2008, netting nineteen times in 94 reds outings, although he only started on 41 of those occasions. He was sold to Bolton Wanderers for £4m in August 2011. He had turned pro in Paris in June 2006, scoring three goals in 25 outings before moving to Anfield.

In the middle

Momo Sissoko signed from Valencia for £5.6m in July 2005 and helped us to claim the FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FA Community Shield, playing 87 times and scoring just once. He had previously been signed by Rafael Benítez while he was in Spain, from Auxerre, and was sold to Juventus for £8.2m in January 2008. He joined PSG from Juventus in July 2011, netting twice in 35 outings, before having his contract terminated in September 2013.

At the back

Paris-born centre-half Mamadou Sakho signed from PSG for £15m in September 2013, netting three times in eighty games before falling out with boss Jürgen Klopp and being sent off to Crystal Palace on loan in February 2017, making the move permanent for an initial £24m six months later. He had scored seven goals in 201 outings for PSG, being made their youngest ever captain for a game in October 2007, aged just seventeen, taking on the role permanently for the 2011/12 season. He helped them to claim the League title in 2012/13, as well as the Coupe de France twice.

Left-back Chris Mavinga signed from Paris Saint-Germain in July 2009, where he had yet to make his senior bow. He failed to make the first team, being sold to Stade Rennais for £1m in July 2011.
