LFC Account(s) Data Protection emails

Anyone else a member of the club get email(s) from the club about a Data Protection breach and urging everyone to change their password ? I got it a few weeks ago, so I changed my password for my membership account.

I get another one today saying "Our records show that you have not yet taken the necessary steps to continue using your account" and listing an account ending in "...496", which isn't my membership at all (or that of either of my kids).

I emailed them there, but wondering is this another f*** up.

I haven’t had any. And when you say another f*** up, what are the other ones?

Members sales day system crash earlier this season being the main one. You will also be aware of the Season ticket waiting list c**k ups (see Murph’s tales of woe on here in that regard),

Is it a scam? I got one.

I thought that first, but the usual scam traits aren’t there, ie it tells you to type the url in the browser rather than click on a link and that page on official website to reset assword is genuine. I will update here if they reply to my email (sent to the dpo email address in the email).

gonna really enjoy the next home game on Dorgie's seasie

Lol, and dine out on my Credit Card

that wasn't a c**k up though in murph's case. it was deliberate and very personal.

Its funny as I had an email last week I found in my junk saying they knew my name and password (They had a password that I have used in the past) and they threatened to send porn to all my contacts unless I paid them $800 in bitcoin, and then this email from the club.

I ignored the threatening email

Did they not threaten to send a video of you cracking one out over porn?

That's what they normally do.

Basically if you find yourself on haveibeenpwned.com or whatever it was called, you'll get that email at some stage.

I've had it.

HAHA,no, it was something along the lines of 'wow dont you visit some interesting porn sites, we will send these pictures to all your contacts if you dont pay us...'

Just ignored it but was concerning that the password they gave is one I have used before, not anymore

It's from a website that you've used before which has been hacked. There's a website which checks your email address to see if it's been listed in any hacks that they have access to - https://haveibeenpwned.com/
