Win this and 6 wins out of 6 will be some statement.

I would rest Gini, Salah and Milner for this (and the league cup)

I would go with :

Allison

TAA

Gomez

VVD

Robbo

Fabinho

Henderson

Keita

Shaqiri

Firmino

Mane

Don't think Fabinho will start until the cup game. Agree with Shaqiri coming in though, Salah needs a break. Mané is out of sorts too, Robertos brief spell on the bench seems to have done wonders though, hopefuly the other 2 can equally be reinvogorated.

Why are you wanting to rest arguably our 2 best players this season if you want a big statement ?

I wouldn't mind seeing Fabinho, Keita, Hendo in midfield and Sturridge and Shaq getting a game. If we're competing for both the CL and league, we have to trust that these guys will be good enough to do the job at home against teams like Southampton.

why are people suggesting resting anyone? absolute madness.

huge game, more important than last night's. play the strongest XI

4 days later we play chelsea, then 3 days later chelsea again. Then 4 days later we play Napoli. And another 4 days after that we play Manchester City.

We're going to have to rest some players at some point during that run.

4 days later we play a completely unimportant game against chelsea's reserves

It's a trophy and it's been too long, it's not totally unimportant.

alright pedant, its relatively unimportant compared to the league, as will be reflected in the team Klopp picks for the southampton game and the chelsea game

I'm not being pedantic, far from it.

This Mane is out of sorts thing is mad. He's had one poor game. One. And it wasn't last night

Thought he was good last night too. Defo does make the odd bad decision, but he’s the epitome of a constant thorn in the opposition defence's side.

At the risk of stating the obvious, to keep them fresh.

We should still have more than enough. Need to make use of this squad

Mane is boss... His work rate is incredible and must be a right f***er to play against... That chance at a tight angle where he blasted it across the face of the goal was unfortunate as the little trick to skip the tackle was class
