...hindsight and all that.

In today's match, as the ball was crossed into Kane at the edge of the box with (I think) TAA and Gomez right on him, he tried to take a touch and take it past them (nearly worked).

Commentator: "Y'know I'm surprised he didn't just take the shot on the swivel".

You mean you're surprised he didn't try the very difficult option of controlling the ball and trying to do a swivel shot with his back to the goal from 18 yards out? Of course, if he had tried that option and fluffed i, you can guarantee the commentator would have said "Y'know, I'm surprised he didn't try to take a touch and take it past them".

f***ing hell, the NBC guy - may have been Dixon - sounded like he'd had a line or two at one point. He was babbling non-stop about balance in defenders in the game, must have been a 3 minute spiel on absolutely nothing

'The crossbar is still shaking after that!'

How long to crossbars shake for? Are they made of rubber?

There have to be other commentators out there. Tyler is way past his sell by date.

We get the premier league feed so Peter Drury and Jon Champion a lot, with Jim Beglin the main co commentator. They are all decent, I have forgiven Champion for once calling Suarez a cheat.

Garth Crooks  this week;

"Chris Smalling, with his new 'natty dread' hair style, was outstanding against Watford. The new look oozes swagger and if his goal was anything to go by, the defender's hairstyle may have something to do with it. Amazing what a new look can do."

Wow.

There was the week where he went off the scale at Bakayoko at Chelsea because he'd dyed his hair blue.

The mad b*****d

heard two different commentators say at the weekend, about liverpool:

"they've got great strength and depth"

and

"they've got great strength of depth".

i know it's only one word and perhaps i'm being pedantic but get it f***ing right can't you? one changes the meaning of the expression entirely and the other doesn't mean anything.

also, chris sutton is a f***ing tory MP in waiting, robbie savage's intelligence married to alan partridge's charm and presentation style.

Chris Sutton is the worst. Tory is a great description

There is always a touch of "You know nothing" disparaging smugness in his voice when on with Kelly Cates and other female presenters on 5live.

Sure the first one didn't say "strength in depth?"
