Brian’s bow
1969 - University graduate Brian Hall made his reds bow in a goalless top-flight draw at Stoke City as a substitute for Roger Hunt. He went on to net 21 times in 224 reds appearances, was also the club’s Public Relations Manager from 1991 until retiring in 2012.
1960 - We also faced the Potters, with Billy Liddell striking a brace, including a penalty, as we beat them 3-0 in a Second Division fixture at Anfield. Bobby Murdoch netted the other.
