My thoughts:

1. Mo was in a league of his own.  This shows (in some people's eyes) that he is World Class and up there with Messi and CR.  Perhaps this is a good thing...perhaps not.  I would like to see a close competition for player of the season so that an individual doesn't feel too good for our club.  From what I see in Salah, this is unlikely anyway.  He has a great team around him made up of exciting players and I would like to see Mo have another great season, but with the other players also raising themselves to that level.

2. Apart from the top 3 spots, the mid table is made up by Brits.  Truly exciting for LFC.  Our great sides of the past have had a strong British (Scottish) spine and this is great.

3. A scouse heart!  TAA is a local boy and I would love to see him progress further under Klopp.  I hope the signing of Fabinho doesn't affect his position although a challenge for any good player is also welcomed. Some are suggesting that he may switch to a midfield position but I am not convinced by this.

4. Our defence was poor for the first half of the season, but the signing of Virgil was brilliant if not expensive.  Let's hope he can marshall us next season alongside a partner who fits in well (whether that is Dejan, Joel or someone new).

5. Loris Karius.  The reason I didn't post a Man of the match for the final was fear of the abuse for poor Loris.  I was angry too but we always sing that our players don't walk alone.  I cannot see him putting on our jersey again, but Premier league coaches are notoriusly stubborn and it wouldn't surprise me if Jurgen sticks with him if he cannot buy his first choice keeper this summer.  For me, this would be a huge mistake.

6. We have great players to sell this summer...Sturridge, Origi, Wijnaldum and Grujic amongst others.  This may help balance the books a little as we are due to be spending some more to add and bolster a challenging squad of players.

7. Trust in the boss. I am amazed that earlier this season support for Jurgen Klopp was being questioned on forums and in the media.  OK, he still hasn't won a trophy yet, but he has got us to 3 finals.  We are showing the strength to get there but we must now take that mental next step across to trophy heaven.  for me, it doesn't matter which trophy it is...what is important is that success will breed success.  We need to win something in 2019.  No excuses REDS!

Thanks for doing this again Morse :)

Re the above - I can't see Gini being sold. We lost Coutinho and Can and have got Fabinho and Keita coming in. At some stage Milner is going to slow down, AOC may be out until Xmas, and I don't know if Lallana will get back to where he was. Squad depth is key, so I don't think we need to weaken ourself by selling one of our regular playing midfielders.

Agree that Grujic is unlikely to make it here. Would be great if he could make an impression at the WC (i.e. shop window), but I'm assuming he won't get much playing time. Wonder how much we'll even get for Sturridge. His loan spell just showed how frail he is, and he did pretty much nothing... Maybe in the 10-15 million bracket, but will be a brave club to take a chance on him and he may have to take a pay cut.

Shame about Origi's season being so poor. Given age and promise, we could still get 20m for him, but he's never quite been the same since the injury against Everton.

And we still have Coutinho money to burn, plus CL money and TV money etc... we need to sell to free up space for better players rather than primarily to boost the amount we have to spend (although of course it all helps)
