He's not really. Of course he's not. But I was listening to his appearance on the Adam Buxton Podcast a few week's back and he said something  that has been playing on my mind ever since: As you may know he had a major heart operation not long back and he said that as a result he has to be realistic and assume that he's got a maximum of maybe fifteen years left. And the thing that really saddens him is that he loves, and he really loves, the first Roxy Music album. So his logic is that if he digs it out every year and plays it for old time's sake, he isn't going to hear that album any more than another fifteen times max.

Made me think. My grandfather and my dad both died when they were 63. I've kind of got to assume that realistically that might be my life sentence as well (I hope it isn't, but, you know... it might be). That might mean I only have another 9 or 10 listens of my favourite 'play them every year albums'. Let alone all those I've hardly listened to at all and want to send more time with and those I haven't yet heard at all.

Miles' Porgy & Bess, Forever Changes, Steve McQueen, Easter Everywhere, Marcus Garvey, The Hissing Of Summer Lawns, Liberty Belle, Smile, Blonde On Blonde, You Can't Hide Your Love Forever,  For Your Pleasure, Fear Of Music, Sweetheart Of The Rodeo, Two Sevens Clash, EVOL, Fear Of A Black Planet, Let's Get It On, H.M.S Fable, Trans-European Express, Astral Weeks, Born Sandy Devotional , Aja, The Black Saint & The  Lady Sinner... and hundreds of others.... so much time we deserve together....

I need to get into gear....
