I’m on holiday in Dubai. I can get to Kiev easier than from the UK, it’s talking the Mrs into it that’s the tricky part! I’m in the ballot for a ticket so I’ll see if I get one then take it from there. Otherwise I’ll watch at the Dubai supporters club. I’d defo have gone if I’d have been at home.

As for getting there, think the best option is flight to Poland then train it to Kiev... Me and a bunch of mates are covering a few possibilities, including the last option of hiring a mini bus and driving there.

Similar yet unrelated story. Mate of mine left yesterday for 2 weeks in Lanzarote. He’s a Leinster rugby fan and next Saturday they play the European Cup Final in Bilbao. He’s flying out the day of the game and back the next day. I’m not sure he’s telling the truth when he says his wife is fine with it even though it’s eminently reasonable.

We've had problems of late with sides launching balls into the box - WBA, Roma x2 - all three games we conceded 2 late goals, and Chelsea in the air caused us trouble.

So the game is well into Ramadan. Do we know if Mo and Sadio are planning to show up for a final without food or water in their bodies? If so we won't have a chance.

Can't imagine those two on form with 11 days of no drinking and eating until sunset. Imagine Emre's not gonna want anything to do with this either. He looks like he likes to eat a lot.

According to this they can't ingest from 04:58 until 20:52 on the day of the final so that's pretty fekired. Especially if they've been on their 11th day. I know they are used to the routine and all but they can't be as sharp as if they were hydrated and fed.
