Liverpool should field the same side in the first leg.

Roma - Strootman and Perotti were injured for today's win at home to Chievo. Manolas, Florenzi and Under rested.

After today's match, Dzeko - “I certainly hope it can be like the Barcelona game… We have to give our all from the start, the stadium will be packed and we’ll do our best. I don’t want to think about the first leg, as it’s better to look forward and we certainly have to do better on home turf. We’ll see what happens. The fans will be behind us, just as they were against Barcelona, and we’ll try to put in a great performance.”

Let’s see if we can get to 2 mins without conceding.

Interestingly, Roma might probably think/want to play at home as they did at Anfield and push the team nice and high.

To counter that, we should play a longer game and not like at City when we played short and conceded early.

However, we’ve seen how those 2 tactics worked at Anfield and it didn’t work out too well for Roma.

Be interesting if they try counter our press (yet not commit too many forward) and stitch cross field ball to Dzeko who can pull on to either TAA/Robertson and try gain from the second ball.

Yeah I think that’s exactly how they’ll play to start with. I think they’ll start with Schick and use him to hunt down the 2nd ball.

Yeah I can see them going 4-4-2 and getting the ball forward to these two as early as possible and then look to play off the knock downs and second balls.

We kept the same match thread for the City games. Starting a new one for the second leg will kill us. 4-nil Roma.

F*** off Magneto.

Think we'll lose 3-1

This team doesnt lose by 2 Hass. If you told me the score would be 3-1 and told me to bet my savings then I'd back us. Yes they could win 3-0 and knock us out but at this moment in time we have strong reasons to be confident/ballsy

If we get through this, I'll be hitting the Laphroig at 10pm on Wednesday evening, and Thursday in the Post Office will be free money and stamps for fucking EVERYONE day.

The Roma president, Jim Pallotta, has launched a furious attack on a section of the club’s fans, warning that a violent minority of “f***ing morons” are destroying the club’s reputation and hurting Italian football more widely.

In an expletive-laden interview on Roma’s website, the US investor who took control of the club in 2011 criticised those supporters who cause unrest at and around matches and labelled Tuesday’s alleged assault of the Liverpool fan Sean Cox, which left the 53-year-old in a critical condition, the “most disgusting stupidity”.

Pallotta said: “These games are great – but they’re not life and death. What’s going on right now with Sean Cox in Liverpool, that’s life and death. I don’t really give a s*** about the score of the game. We have a long history at Roma and what’s going on now is a few stupid people destroying our history and attacking our legacy, and I’m tired of it.

“It’s not just an issue for Roma. It’s an issue for Italy and it’s an issue for the authorities and it’s an issue for all of us to band together and to finally wake up so that we don’t have a reputation that’s not deserved. Our fans are the best fans in the world. It’s just a couple of f***ing morons that take the rest of us down.”

Pallotta, who praised the majority of fans, said it was “time now for things to change in Italy and in Rome. This is happening too much.”
