Decent beer pubs in Liverpool

Mate is up for the BeerX trade show in Liverpool in a couple of weeks (his brewery is up for an award). He's looking for decent craft/real ale pubs to go drinking in - preferably with a decent selection of stuff from local breweries. He's staying central and the trade show's at the Exhibition Centre in Queen's Dock 

 

Any suggestions?
