Gethin Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 On BT Sport 3 5-0 up from the first leg Gini and Woodburn out for us (not fit after illness), quite a few injured for them http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/293072-liverpool-v-fc-porto-team-news Was hoping for quite a few rested players for this but Jurgen's said he'll only make 2 or 3 changes. Hopefully that includes Salah and Firminho Most of the pre-game b******s is in the first leg thread
downunder Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Not sure if you put the extra h in earlier too, but it's Firmino. I don't usually pick these things up, but it's becoming a trend on here now!
sutty Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Shame for Woodburn. 2 to 3 changes seems really light. I'd be giving a game to Solanke, possibly Ings. I'd also expect to see some football for Moreno & Lallana. Something like LKJGJMRKAMECJMALDSDISM That's alot more than 2-3 changes though

sutty Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Also, wonder who plays at right back today. Will give an indication of the likely selection on Saturday.

Porto don't seem to be risking any of their players that aren't 100% - they're still a good team but you'd expect the team you list there to give them a good game
downunder Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 I would play Mignolet or Ward, purely because you never know if Karius will get injured or sent off in a game, and game time can't be a bad thing for an understudy.

LicK Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) KariusGomez Matip VvD MorenoMilner Can LallanaIngs Firmino Mane Get Bobby and Mane off after 45-60, and Lallana probably won't last 90. It's resting one of the front three that's the pain in the a*** as we don't have any other players who fit the wide positions. Shame for Woodburn as it might have suited him. Hightown Phil Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Woodburn playing would mean he can’t play in the Youth League any more I think. So an hour here rules him out of the quarters of that and potentially the semi and the final. Which is probably not the best idea.
rednotdead Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Each of the few meltdowns we have had this season (Spurs, Arsenal, Sevilla) have been kick-started by either Lovren, Mignolet or Moreno so, on that basis alone, none of Larry, Curly or Moe should be on the pitch at any stage.

This stuff is pretty tedious. Lovren's had 1 genuine bad game all season. Moreno similar. Bored of talking about Mig. I'd start him just to piss people off. Edited March 6, 2018 by sutty

Thought it was one.
charlie clown Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Minxxxxt can f*** off, even seeing his name gives me a headache Play Hendo in goal if needs be Dead right, Mignolet should be at his own sad little birthday party in McDonalds (Childwall Valley Road). Being sung to by some bored staff members, playing with his happy meal gift. And lapping it all up with a big daft smile on his unfeasibly big moon face, only vaguely troubled by the nagging idea that he had something more important to do somewhere else. Oh yeah, happy birthday Simon, ya big daft get.

I'd start him just to piss people off. They are both panicky players. Both have a tendency to lose it when pressure mounts. Witness Lovren's brainfart against City as well.
Murphman Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 This stuff is pretty tedious. Lovren's had 1 genuine bad game all season. Moreno similar. It's more about monumental f*ck ups with Lovren than 90 minutes of dross. he was abysmal against Spurs but there are other games where he's been ok for the most part then made a complete boll*cks of it and cost us a goal or just about got away with it. Moreno exactly the same, liable to brain freeze at any point.

He was pretty knackered at that point and had been really good until then. It's a half error that doesnt cost the team. He's had one bad game against spurs. He's pretty good.

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Reality is, whatever side we put out - aside from going nuts with 17 year olds - should be able to avoid a 5 goal defeat, so I'd deffo rest players if I was the manager. Although on here someone said Klopp hinted at 3 changes
Andy-oh-six Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 I would expect at least Mo, Firmino and Hendo to be rested. Mo and Bobby could do with the night off and they have played more than anyone and he appears to be managing Henderson’s appearances.
RP Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 How many teams in this round, Gethin?I'm currently booking hotels for the away leg of the next round in various cities around Europe. Madrid/ParisBarcelonaTurinSeville Donetsk - don't really fancy it, I don't thinkRoma - not sureMunich Hope it's Munich, Barcelona or Madrid/Paris really, in that order. But it'll be fcking London or Manchester, won't it?
The_Adder Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Rest our best four players: front three and van Dijk.
