magneto Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Hammers have had a longer break than us and still fighting for survival. Arnautovic is in top form since Moyseh took over. Can returns from his European suspension. I'd play: KariusTrent Lovren Van Dijk RobertsonCan Wijnaldum OXSalah Bobby Mane
épieur Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 I'd give hendo another 45 minutes to build on from the start.
McBain Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Don't see Ox starting. MIlner probably deserves is but it doesn't feel like he starts these types of games lately. Home against bottom half types
Gethin Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 No reason not to go full strength for this - 10 day rest and got a week before Newcastle.
The_Adder Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Same 11 that smashed Porto 0-5. They deserve it.
PhilM Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Whatever it takes. Don't want to see Moyes in his s*** cardigan with a glass of champagne on the go again.
Guy_Incognito Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Win this and we go second by a point, with Man U to play Chelsea on the Sunday.
Gethin Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Win this and we go second by a point, with Man U to play Chelsea on the Sunday. Interesting run of games for them: Seville (A), Chelsea (H), Palace (A), Us (H), Sevilla (H). They've got to hope they put up a decent win against Sevilla in the first leg or they've got to have an eye on the 2nd leg when they play us. We've got the luxury of being able to rest key players for the 2nd leg before we play them

Quite like to see a 2/3 - 1 Seville win on that basis
Hightown Phil Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Sevilla are a bit crap, so I'm worried they're going to batter them.
Jarg Armani Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 The resting thing is only an advantage if the game is in the balance for them against Seville... Quite like to see a 2/3 - 1 Seville win on that basisI don't rate Seville (except v us) but with the way United play you wouldn't expect them to be in a commanding lead going into the 2nd leg. Everything points towards that tie still being in the balance.
Gethin Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Anyway - f*** that lot. Last week's result allows us to go full strength for the next two league games and not worry about the second leg too much. Want to see Moyes crying on the bench
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 No reason not to go full strength for this - 10 day rest and got a week before Newcastle. Yeah, some nice spacing now, Sat, Sat then Tues against Porto which we can take easy before the Mancs on the following Sat.
David Hodgson Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 It would be nuts to go anything but full strength for West Ham. 10 days rest since Porto and 7 days til Newcastle. Footballers need to play actual football matches. Only question is, what's our best midfield ? I think it's Henderson, Can and Lallana. Klopp may prefer to pick Chamberlain and give Lallana half an hour.

Wanted him to come on and show some silky swan action v Porto away but he didn't.

The_Adder Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 (edited) Every time someone says "if we win this and if they lose that that then we'll be x points ahead" we always mess it up. f***ing expecting an Arnautovic hatrick. Mockers. Only question is, what's our best midfield ? I think it's Henderson, Can and Lallana. Klopp may prefer to pick Chamberlain and give Lallana half an hour. Henderson, Keita, Lallana Edited February 19, 2018 by The_Adder

Conrad Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 if they are all fit and in formHendersonLallanaWijnaldum but there's not much in it really
Alonso Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Questions are : Does Gomez get some match time at right back?Who partners vvd - matip, lovren or klavan?Does lallana get some match fitness from the start?Who plays alongside Henderson?
Earl Hafler Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 I don't think Lallana is fully back 'in' in the bosses mind yet. Wanted him to come on and show some silky swan action v Porto away but he didn't.Should be an ideal game for Lallana to start. Full strength with Hendo, Lallana and one of Milner or Gini. Gomez possibly better equipped to deal with Arnautovic
Leo No.8 Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Trent has been very good lately whilst Gomez made a couple of errors before getting a break. I think TAA should keep his place, especially as WH will be playing Moyez-ball. He offers more going forward.
Tommy Cockles Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 We weren't great after our last break & warm weather training camp. I can't remember the opposition but we didn't win & looked sluggish.
