Euro 2020

Had a quick read of this on the BBC site. I knew they where debating the idea of using multiple nations holding individual games but wasnt aware they actually went for it. Not sure its a good idea at all.

it's a terrible idea - (Platini's plan to sure up his vote) - despite England (Wembley) getting the most games including the biggies.

I have no idea what's going on with the Euros anymore -

 

- a new competition they've introduced to replace friendlies, which apparently has a certain amount of qualification spots for Euro 2020?

- with 24 teams to qualify surely all the 'top' teams will qualify at a canter (except maybe the Netherlands again)

- can the same team end up qualifying from the 'new competition' and the actual qualifiers ?

 

It seems a right mess.

16 nations is the right number for the Euros. The last Euros were awful - 6 groups of 4 meant that only 6 of 24 teams were eliminated straight away. You had to be exceptionally crap to not make the knockouts
