Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Many players are easy & obvious - 8 Gerrard being a prime example. But which are the weirdest ones you've seen? Not someone's own name, but players of ours that are either unloved or just not obvious. Lucas would be a 'less obvious' one, but I'm also thinking downright weird - Balotelli, Konchesky....
cymrococh Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) Saw a grown man in a Borini one once, about a day after we'd signed him. Edited September 5, 2017 by cymrococh
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 That deffo qualifies as a weird one
Barnesy_10 Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 my eldest got Balotelli on his shirt on the day we signed him..... was adamant that we got him as he thought he was great for some reason.... Fortunately it was on a shirt that was in the sale in the club shop...
Leo No.8 Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I had John Scales on my Liverpool shirt once. People said I looked like him. And I rated him.
dorgie Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 One of my sons got Sinclair on his thinking he was going to be the next big thing. That went well.
cymrococh Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I bought a Mascherano shirt for when I was travelling through Argentina. It was just a magnet for people to come up to me saying 'Tevez, Manchester'.
Barnesy_10 Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 One of my sons got Sinclair on his thinking he was going to be the next big thing. That went well. a mate got Diouf on the back of his shirt after the home game against Southampton (his home debut?) he used to wear it to 5 a side and never lived it down even after taking the lettering off (remaining glue still spelt Diouf)
New York Red Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 i saw an American bloke with "Shanley" on the back of his shirt when we played Roma at Fenway Park. I told him that he had it spelled wrong. He hadn't. His name was Shanley.

I suspect there are many a Diouf shirt buried in the bottom of wardrobes never to see light of day again.

In fact, anybody who isnt a child who gets a players name on the back of their shirt is wool.
Leo No.8 Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Yeah I think shirt names for adults are pretty wool. The last ones I had were the Scales one and a Roberto Baggio Juve shirt when I was a kid.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 Wool. In fact, anybody who isnt a child who gets a players name on the back of their shirt is wool. I'd go as far as saying anyone who isn't a child or actually playing footy....
Benzo-13 Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) I'd Smicer 7 99/00 on that mad green shirt. Edited September 5, 2017 by Benzo-13

Leo No.8 Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) Why does everyone keep asking Rory what he's wearing? He's obviously got some admirers. Edited September 5, 2017 by Leo No.8
