A treble treble
1946 - Jack Balmer scored a hat-trick in our 4-2 First Division defeat of Arsenal at Anfield, including a penalty, as we came from 2-1 down to cement our place at the top of the table. This was his third treble in consecutive games, becoming the third player in top-flight history to achieve this. Albert Stubbins netted our other goal, with Reg Lewis bagging the first of his five goals against the reds, with Jimmy Logie also on target.
