I'd like to see us sign players whose names endlessly amuse me, like Ndidi and Udogie

We had a chance of something special when we had N'Gog, Ngoo and Amoo on our books.

Its disapointing that they couldn't all play a league game together. Even if it meant sacrificing the points and losing the game.

Are we being a bit racialist ? I can't decide. We are probably being good natured and thats probably enough.

Cherki at Lyon looks a really good player. Full of pace and trickery and knows how to stick it in the net. If his release clause thing is true we should be all over that

Pace is something he lacks from what I've seen and read.  Looks a good player though.

He's not the fastest but can hold the ball up, has great feet and awareness.

More Bobby than Darwin for sure.

I used to love the "You say NgoG but I say Ngo" chant.

Has everyone written off Quansah completely? Had a bad start and hasn’t played much this season but he looked very promising last year.

I'd keep him - he's very similar to Virgil without perhaps the physical presence.

Virgil was still playing for Groningen at his age.

All depends on numbers for Quansah I guess. If we can get £30m+ and then pay £50m for the lad from Bournemouth then you're doing the deal.

Cherki has to be on one of our lists.

I think he's on the naughty list.

Undoubted talent but question marks on attitude... that was a while ago though and he may have matured.

No doubt we'll look into all of that but £25m could prove to be a steal.

Virgil was playing every week at his age. I don’t know what the answer is but young centre halves making the step up from youth team to first team starter at a club like Liverpool is pretty rare.

The only times I can think of in the PL era was Carra and Gomez* - both of whom played a decent amount of time at full back before moving central.

I reckon Quansah has the potential to be a very good CB but it's difficult to see how he gets enough game time to make that step with us. I think he needs 1 or 2 seasons out on loan at a good standard - or to be sold with a buy-back clause to achieve that

*I know we signed him from Charlton but was at the same age as he'd have come up from the academy
