Was always the best policy on Championship Manager 93 when selecting a small club for a " challenge "

Sign Ray Wilkins, Gordan Cowans and the like. Smash the league.

That Keane fellah from Forest and Danny Murphy from Crewe and you were set.

Snippet from Jonathan Northcroft article in the Times:

Salah’s retention has consequences for Liverpool’s plans to rebuild their squad. Their financial commitments to him and Virgil van Dijk (close to renewing his contract too) will take up such space on the wage bill that, unless there are several significant sales, talk of Liverpool making five or six summer signings is fanciful.

Grown men shouldn’t be using the word ‘fanciful’.

Reckon it’s b******, Clive.

We all saw this excuse coming.

Chucking money at Mo and VvD was always going to be FSG's cheapest option.

We're clearly looking to sign Huijsen,Kerkez, and are targeting a 9, at bare minimum, that's a decent amount of money we'd be spending, so let's see what happens. We're getting a chunk of money for winning the league, and whatever money we've gotten in the CL.

I agree.

Ornstein again on NBC sports reiterating that we want Huijsen,Kerkez, and a centerforward for sure.

400k (reportedly Mo’s salary) x 52 is £21m. Now, there’s no way on earth you’re replacing Mo for that given a new player’s signing fee, sign ON fee + wages.

Same for Virg.

So, it’s clearly a load of rancid old s***e.

We must also have a lot of money saved from last season. If you think a massive club brings in 2-3 players a season then 5 this summer would make 6 in total over 2 years and four transfer windows. Basically the minimum requirement.

Plus Trent’s wages.

Won the third and fourth divisions with back to back 100% records.  Mark Hughes at right back and Batistuta up front.  Couldn’t live with us.

Alright, Kaiser.

Theoretical poll

If we don't lose anyone and don't sign anyone... does this squad win the 25/26 league?

I think we’d finish in the top 3.

The drop off is fairly steep isn’t it.

Especially when you compare them to the right full backs. Bradley is better than the pair of them.

I just meant Robbo’s drop off but yeah.

Feel like I’ve seen him play everyone onside for a goal or near goal about 10 times this season. .

Not the lad from Ajax?

All the noise from the journos seem to point to Kerkez, [he's also been liking every single Liverpool related post on Instagram, Mo signing,etc...], I just don't see Hato as the player who is going to displace Robbo at his age, he's far too young coming from an unproven league. We may sign him because he's versatile and plays in both positions but I think Kerkez is our solution there.
