Did we not bid for Caicedo after getting MacAlister?

Ha, true

Anyway, I'm happy which is obviously the most important thing here

I’d say Kerkez, Hato (if Quansah is sold/loaned), Huijsen, Cherki and Ekitike.

Though I’d love Alvarez.

The RB question is rather 🤔

Far too many players with potential in that list. One of em needs to be a proven humdinger for me and by all means the others in a lower bracket

Kerkez looks the business but I think Hato and Robbo would be good enough for left back and Hato has the potential to be the next Virgil

I don't think Hato is good enough to be immediately playing regularly for us, and he would have to if Robbo is around, because he clearly can't play 3 games a week.

I think it’s more like a song in the pubs than an actual terrace chant. But yeah, it was real.

More or less real than

Jay Spearing

Jay Spearing

Minuscule

But someone to be scared of

If FSG are serious then kerkez and a really good CB are a must

The only times I can think of in the PL era was Carra and Gomez* - both of whom played a decent amount of time at full back before moving central.

I reckon Quansah has the potential to be a very good CB but it's difficult to see how he gets enough game time to make that step with us. I think he needs 1 or 2 seasons out on loan at a good standard - or to be sold with a buy-back clause to achieve that

*I know we signed him from Charlton but was at the same age as he'd have come up from the academy

Can hardly play one game a week these days. Had a good run though.

That'd be a good summer. Not good for my liver, but a very good summer.

Have we been linked with him?

I don't think any of them are guaranteed to be great. Unless centre forward is absolutely brilliant.

FSG aren’t signing 5 lads who are guaranteed to be great. They’ve only done that twice in 15 years (VVD and Alisson), and both of them cost a bomb.

Naby keita wasn't cheap, nor was Nunez, Dom cost about 60 million didn't he?

I’m not talking about cost, cb, I’m talking about about ‘guaranteed to be great’, as Paul mentioned. I think his implication is that we should be signing some players that are more that than gambles. If I’m wrong Paul, apologies.

I think Salah, Mane and MacAlister were guaranteed to be great. At least they would definitely improve us a lot.

True on Mac Allister, yes. Forgot that one. Salah, no. He’d already failed in the PL. even Jurgen wasn’t convinced. Allegedly. Mane? I didn’t. But he proved me wrong on his first performance.

I said I thought they were all guaranteed to be great. And they were. Salah was scoring very close to 1 in 2 in a top league while playing in champions league. The fact he barely played for Chelsea meant nothing.

This is overplayed massively to show that Edwards and his geeks were great

Klopp didn't know much of Salah,  the scouts and geeks did their job and told him about him

We were lucky to get Salah so cheap as his price would have doubled two months later after the Neymar fee changed the market

Salah was sensational in Italy

Similar to KDB when he moved to city, the Chelsea spell was meaningless

To the extent that it annoys me when they reference his goals for them in his PL stats.
