Expand No - but I think Huijsen would be the Gomez replacement. Can well see us selling Konate if he looks unlikely to sign a new contract and signing another experienced CB to replace him.

Swipe Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm hoping the Quansah line there implies Huijsen would replace him, but yeah, maybe Konate wants to go, or wants to run his contract down like Trent. What can you do.

Be interesting to see what they do about RB in the summer. Seems to be a bit of a subtle briefing lately to say Bradley will be first choice, which is great, but we really do need a second option there. 1

Expand I'm fine with him being first choice, but his fitness is an issue, and we don't have a natural back up/competition

He's exciting, but if he has another layoff early next season what do we do. Did wonder if we'd get someone who can play centre half and also RB if needed. Maybe Huijsen can do that. Not sure I've noticed if he's fast or not tbh.
psl Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 1 hour ago, Cobs said: And if he refuses to go ? Expand Not much you can do is there. But we should invite offers and try to encourage the process along. Better than doing nothing and letting someone else go for free.

No. If anything, he'd be Virgils long term replacement on the left cb position, not that I rate him.

Expand I'm pretty sure I'm 100% alone on this, which is fine, but I really don't rate Konate that highly. He makes me very nervous when I watch him play. Constantly bundling into forwards and getting away with it. I'd love an upgrade on him too, albeit it's a very low priority.
PaulMcC186 Posted 23 minutes ago Posted 23 minutes ago Van Dijk's ongoing desire to compete for the biggest trophies was matched by what Liverpool are determined to keep offering and their summer transfer plans are expected to underline that. [ @David_Ornstein & @JamesPearceLFC ] 1

Expand I've convinced myself it's gonna be Frimpong, who will be primarily an option as a winger but also backup/rotation for Bradley at right-back, with probably Curtis/Quansah as the smash-glass, we're-injury-f***ed third and fourth choices.
RedHarvest Posted 2 minutes ago Posted 2 minutes ago The Huijsen stuff might be press briefing to encourage Konates camp to s*** or get off the pot
