The mad thing is I can imagine Nunez going to Atleti and actually being the player we were hoping to get.

I can imagine him going to any club, anywhere and not thinking of him ever again.

There is no universe in which he becomes a better player than the one we should be signing to replace him. None.

If people end up pining wistfully for Nunez then things have gone badly wrong.

Think there’s a solution for him at Atlético though. They’re not the prettiest of teams, ball over the top might work.

Sound, but be arsed if I'm ever wishing he was still here

Just to warn you lads, Senrab gets really angry if people slag off Nunez, he fcking launched for me at Wembley, told me to get out of the pub!

I did go, once I'd had another pint like :drink:. Some people think you can't slag a player off whatever if they wear a red shirt. To be honest I'm not a serial moaner but some just drag you into an abyss of negativity like Mignolet did in recent years, and now Nunez. He's had his chance, I wish him well, unless he stays of course, the vibe when he went up for the pens against PSG summed him up.

It’s extremely normal to wish a departing player well unless they’re Diouf or have screwed the club over the transfer or whatever. There are always scapegoat players, and often justified, but some of the online hostility towards Darwin is demented tbh.

Yeah, I wish him well, but don't expect him to become a world beater any time ever.  His time will be remembered equally for some great, clutch winning goals, some clutch terrible misses, and some utterly headless performances with and without the ball. I'm excited to see what kind of striker Slot wants (that we can hopefully get) because we've played half the season without a real centre forward and done pretty damn well...

Yeah - ultimately it’s really not his fault that he’s not good enough and any (perceived) attitude issues are about his confidence absolutely crashing rather than him not caring. He has started to look terrified out there.

Kelleher to West Ham say the Mirror. Be alright for him.

He can lodge at mine for 10 grand a week if he's stuck. Gets his own attic room and everything.
