Reckon VVD will be off to Chelsea...

hopefully we have plans for a backup option that we can bring in with minimal fuss.

Keeping hold of Phil would be great providing he can focus and get back into some top form without sulking.

VVD's mate was at the Chelsea game yesterday. Whether that means anything with regards to VVD is another matter...

No idea, and don't really care. It's frustrating as fans we have nothing to speculate and debate on, but it's clear that's the way club is now working.

we're on page 910 of this thread now.

909 pages of it is utter rubbish though

If we don't sign a defender and lose out on a trophy/top 4 because of defensive incompetence then i think Klopp will have a lot to answer for.

One long term injury to Matip and its keystone cops stuff at the back

'Ready to pounce' if Southampton's stance changes over vvd, and it's him or nowt in terms of central defence.

No to Draxler too.

So how do Southanpton communicate this vital info?

Press release saying that the player they've gone on record 14 times to say isn't for sale, is actually for sale?

All hail the transfer turd. May it bring us better luck than its predecessor.

Southampton have tweeted (then deleted) a picture that looks like VVD training with their u23s - who play tonight. If he plays it might be the start of his rehabilitation.

Yep.

The ONLY CB that can improve us is a player that will cost upwards of £60m and one we had little chance of getting as he'd recently signed a 5 year contract, from a club that has no reason to sell.

WTF are our scouts doing....

Why ? He was reportedly playing for the U23s over a week ago.

He needs to be fit whether he's staying there or not. Can't have it as meaning a great deal either way.

Interesting bit in the Echo article is that Lazio have said the CB they're selling was told he was guaranteed playing time at Soton...
