Vacuum Cleaners - yeah, I know it's dull :(

Need a new one, our Dyson has bust and is out of warranty.

 

Ms TommoK wants an automatic one, obviously, but I can't believe they're actually any good and as for others the Dyson V8 seems to get the best reviews but ffs I really don't particularly fancy shelling out best part of £500 for a hoover, I mean, how much better can it be to warrant that kind of price?

 

So forum sages, what kind of hoover have you got and would you recommend it?
