Excel Again and Again... Yipeee!

Say I have the following formula

=SUM(A1:A3)

 

I want the above formula to use the column reference in D1 and calculate the sum accordingly.

I have tested the indirect formula and it works, but on a sheet with quite a few forumlas, I really don't want to edit each formula

Something like offsetting the column references for whole sheet would be what I'm looking for
