Pros -

their season is over, 44pts 10 behind Everton, they're not finishing higher than 8th & they're in no danger of going down

they are in poor form - 4 defeats in 6

Cons -

Pulis football

Our injury list

This is EXACTLY the type of game we hate

Mane - out

Lallana - doubt

Hendo - no idea

Our rivals -

Spurs - Bournemouth - home win

Sot'on - City - possibly a draw

Mancs - Chelsea  - AWAY WIN PLEASE, or a draw is ok

Boro - Arsenal - no chance Boro are winning that

I'd use TAA on the right, Coutinho on the left, Firmino playing off Origi.

Just have a steady opening ten minutes, lull them out of defence...then just rip them open for 20 minutes and bang three goals in.

Posted

Just make them play football. Keep the ball in play. No soft free-kicks around our box and try and limit the corners too.

Do that and we'll t*** them

biggest worry about this is WBA haven't scored a goal since about 1986. so they're due one, and they're a big physical side, the sort of team we seem to struggle against

yeah - 18 March vs Arsenal - when they SMASHED a couple in from corners.

If anyone's as obliging from corners as a*** were that day - it's us. Every game. And we haven't kept a c/s since 11 Feb vs Spurs

So, I reckon this game is almost our CL qualifier. After tonight's result Arsenal are almost out. One more defeat and they're gone and it could come this weekend.

If Chelsea take pts off Man United and we win then they are almost out of the top 4 chase...

Win against WBA, then win at home to Palace and we're on 69 points with 12 to play for. There is every chance that United do not take more than 4 from their next 9 pts (Chelsea, Burnley, City) which would put them on 61 with 15 to play for. Arsenal will do well to more than 6 from their next 9 (Boro away, Leicester home, Spurs away) which puts them on 60 with 15 to play for.

Get the next 6 points and we are almost home..

All away too.

Two centre backs please.

Mignolet

Clyne Matip Lovren Milner

Can Wijnaldum Lallana

Firmino Sturridge Coutinho

Subs

Arsenal's have Spurs, ManU & Everton.

ManU on 7 May - hopefully we'll be sufficiently clear of both then that they'll put the nail in each other's coffin on a top 4 finish

Although at the moment they're incapable of winning - except against a woeful WHU

Arsenal also have their favourite game of the season Stoke away. They are horrendous there...

3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss (74 points) should get us in.

Historically I don't think 74 has ever failed to get in. We can do better though and we should be aiming at 3rd.

we finished 4th in 2008 with 76pts, but each season is different

we've a great chance to put proper daylight between ourselves and the Mancs/Arsenal this weekend.

Goal difference as well too....

Hate talk about goal difference...just get the points. If the mancs/a*** go on a winning streak and take advantage of their games in hand their goal difference will obviously improve
