Sydney move

[The Hitman]

So I'm relocating with my wife and baby girl to Sydney from Hong Kong, got a transfer with work which I'm fairly excited about. We are obviously going to be looking for places to live.

 

Can any Sydney-based folk advise on areas which would be good to live for a young family? I think there's got to be at least a couple lurking around here.

 

 Somewhere not too expensive (<$900 p.w) but which is still interesting with nice cafes/restaurants etc, close enough to the CBD (I'll be working in Barangaroo) but also with a bit of room for the little one to roll around in?

 

Had dreams of a place near the beach, but these hopes have really been dashed by price, so may have to go somewhere inland.
