stonty Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 We couldn't win a toss at present, but onwards and upwards
Tommy Cockles Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) Look we were never winning the League. I would rather finish 4th than win the FA Cup & the League Cup because for where we are as a club its what we need the most. Mostly as a means to attract better players in the summer. Anyone thinking our realistic goals were above that needs their bumps felt, despite an overachieving start to the season. Would take 4th now, and we are still well in the race. Had anyone said in July that at the end of Jan we would still be in the mix for it I would well have taken it. All the "season is over" dullards need to have a word with themselves. Feck the cups. This is the season & it starts now. All the best. Edited January 29, 2017 by Tommy Cockles

Swipe Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 I'd rather finish fourth and not s*** ourselves out of both cups like we did.
Tommy Cockles Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Call that a season? Worst season since 'Seasons in the Abyss' by Slayer Yeah I'd call it a season if it's where we end up from here, yeah. How about you? I'd rather finish fourth and not s*** ourselves out of both cups like we did. I'd rather that too, but we have s*** ourselves out of both cups so where do we go from here? I'd rather I was 20 again as well, but I'm not. What were we were 6th or 7th or 8th or something last year? Would love to be back in the top 4, as a club we need it badly. Much more so than a League Cup or an FA Cup.
Molby Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 We need it if we use it to build I don't think we will
Swipe Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Get that TC but can't see this past week not affecting the league form even more. At home to wolves. f*** sake.
Tommy Cockles Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Get that TC but can't see this past week not affecting the league form even more. At home to wolves. f*** sake. Mate its murder, of course it is. I'm as gutted as anyone. Truth is though he's looked at it & gone, "no its all about Chelsea Tuesday" & no doubt the players agree. I think if its Chelsea next weekend instead its a different team & probably a different outcome. After all we've got a paper thin squad which is the real issue. One or 2 players out & there's 3 teenagers on the bench. Its a farce. Need top 4 to take a step on from here, we know the owners aren't going to bankroll it beyond the performance return so its all about legging ourselves up.
Swipe Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Tru dat. Bad result on Tuesday and it's proper crisis. If it's not already.
Tommy Cockles Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Tru dat. Bad result on Tuesday and it's proper crisis. If it's not already. No it is a crisis already but we can only look forward & its all about the League & my point is it was all about that already, and its clear the manager sees it like that too Win Tuesday & the world changes altogether. If only for a few days....
Zoob Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 We could actually have Mane back, but he's just played 120 mins, so no chance of him starting. At least having him on the bench would be a plus...
growler Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 A win isn't enough. The performance neeeds to show a change.
Zoob Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 A win isn't enough. The performance neeeds to show a change. I'd settle for a win with a poor performance.
Stanley Leisure Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) A win isn't enough. Yes. We need a super-win. Edited January 29, 2017 by Stanley Leisure
McBain Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 The true victory is forcing your enemy to admit they were wrong to oppose you in the first place. I'm not sure how we can achieve this Tuesday but I'm up for it.
growler Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Ok fair enough, yes I'd take a win, any win. It would be good to have a strong reaction from the team though - they reacting to klopp type thing.
muleskinner Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Yes. We need a super-win.We get 6 points for one of those I think.
D.Boon Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 We absolutely need to score first, if they get a goal early it could get ugly.
stressederic Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 We get 6 points for one of those I think. That cuts their lead to 4 points. We're well in it.
RP Posted January 29, 2017 Author Posted January 29, 2017 A bonus point win is required at this stage. We must demand nothing less.
