Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 We've won 5, drawn 4 of our last 10 League games, they're bottom - below even Hull & Sunderland - and have lost 6 of their last 8 conceding 5, 4 twice & 3 three times in those games so expect a 10-0-0 formation. We're a mirror of each other - we've scored 49 - they've conceded 49, we've conceded 24, they've scored 23. I'd take any win right now coupled with a good performance

Gethin Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 The fixtures fall pretty nicely - I'd go pretty much full strength for both this & Southampton (who don't play until the Sunday early game)
Tobes Rafa Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Hopefully we can be 8-0 up after ten minutes to allow us to rest key players for the next game
Rory Fitzgerald Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Hopefully we can be 8-0 up after ten minutes to allow us to rest key players for the next gameIf we're 8-0 up after 10mins then it will feel like a defeat if we don't win 72-1. Im budgeting a 5min cameo appearance from Moreno.
Conrad Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 If we sort out Matip we can be at full strength for this bar Can for Mane

RP Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 for the Chelsea game on 4 Feb you mean Sometimes I don't understand your sense of humour, or 'in jokes'. Then I realise that I'm way off the mark
Cam Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 MignoletClyne Lovren Klavan MilnerWijnaldum Henderson LallanaSomeone Firmino Coutinho Reward TAA and Woodburn with spots on the bench. Perhaps show Sturridge & Origi up by bringing Woodburn on before them.
Billy Dane Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Delighted to see we signed someone in time for the game.
Hightown Phil Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 MignoletClyne Lovren Klavan MilnerWijnaldum Henderson LallanaSomeone Firmino Coutinho Reward TAA and Woodburn with spots on the bench. Perhaps show Sturridge & Origi up by bringing Woodburn on before them. Move Lallana forward and put Can in and that's it I think. Pretty certain last night's side was derived from that 11.
realtarragona Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Prefer to see Lallana in midfield. He's been great from there this season and think we look a better side with him there too. Plus it gets an extra goalscorer on the pitch. And it means I don't need to watch Can either which is another bonus.
Swipe Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Yeah think I'd rather Lallana in midfield and stick with Origi up front.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 Sometimes I don't understand your sense of humour, or 'in jokes'. Then I realise that I'm way off the mark someone said in a previous thread something about getting up a good lead (I think vs Sot'on in the 1L) and then resting players for Chelsea despite a bunch of games inbetweenMignoletClyne Lovren Klavan MilnerWijnaldum Henderson LallanaSomeone Firmino Coutinho Reward TAA and Woodburn with spots on the bench. Perhaps show Sturridge & Origi up by bringing Woodburn on before them. Someone probably equals Can. Or goal-machine Lucas. Possibly Origi, but he's been beyond poor recently. Or maybe - just maybe - Ojo/Ejaria
rednotdead Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 We should replace Mané with the player most like him in the squad MignoletClyne Lovren Klavan MilnerWijnaldum Henderson LallanaOjo Firmino Coutinho But we won't so probably Origi
Maldini Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 I don't think Ojo is as direct as Mané. He tends to slow the ball down and then burst past the defender once he presses him. Mane is much quicker in possession, one of the reasons he is so dangerous I think is that he is so decisive and doesn't give the opposition a chance to regain their shape.
Gethin Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 It would be a good game to start Ojo if he's fit enough - means everyone else playing their best position and he needs game time for experience
muleskinner Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Clement has said that Swansea are probably going to be relegated, need to help that come to fruition. Hopefully we are all over them from the off, they will crumble.
Cam Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 It would be a good game to start Ojo if he's fit enough - means everyone else playing their best position and he needs game time for experiencePlay him in a full strength team and let's see what he's made of. It's always difficult to judge talent in much-changed teams.
RP Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 someone said in a previous thread something about getting up a good lead (I think vs Sot'on in the 1L) and then resting players for Chelsea despite a bunch of games inbetween Oh ok. Chelsea on 4th Feb though? The day we play Hull City, you mean?
Conrad Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 We can't make a like for like change for Mane without sacrificing quality, so lesser of two evils is play Lallana in the front 3 and bring in Can
Case Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 I'd play Hendo, Gini, Lallana. Then Coutinho, Firmino, Sturridge.
Conrad Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 I'd play Hendo, Gini, Lallana. Then Coutinho, Firmino, Sturridge.that's the other option, yeah.
