Boca Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Probably won't be a lot of action this window but might as well keep it in the one place if there is. Let's start out with our two favourite clubs - Manchester Evening News saying Schneiderlin is having a medical at Everton.

Ibby Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Spending more money than us though aren't they? Also signed Luckman from Charlton for £11m. If they schneiderlin also for the reported £22m then that's £33m spent in Jan #FSGsayitsimpossibletosignanyplayersinjan
Hassony Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Spending more money than us though aren't they? Also signed Luckman from Charlton for £11m. Ibby Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Schneiderlin could do a job. But you know that's not the point I was making Hass. If you really want to do some business in this window you can if you can be bothered to
kop205 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Everton being able to get players of the level that is acceptable for Everton doesn't in itself mean that it is possible for us to get players that are of the level to do a job for us. I'm not saying we can't, just that what Everton do is f***ing irrelevant.
smithdown Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Then what is relevant? If Toys R Us open a new superstore? One of our helicopters crashes into one of our yachts? Football team improves squad in January using money is the news.
Ibby Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Then what is relevant? If Toys R Us open a new superstore? One of our helicopters crashes into one of our yachts? Football team improves squad in January using money is the news.Exactly and its not as if it's small change it's £33m netto. Remind me how much we spent again this summer?
Billy Dane Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 And we're 2nd in the league and Everton are...?
smithdown Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Look. Let's not f*ck about. The only time FSG plunged money in is when they bought us and were charming their way into our knickers. That window. Since that window it's been whatever we can bring in we can spend. That's if we are 8th or 7th or 6th...or 2nd or 1st. That's if we are in the CL or not. That's how it is. So give over.
Barnesy_10 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Aye its frustrating... I'm not saying we should be going for Schneiderlin... But we have scouts at the club who identify players, we brought in a lot of cash in the summer, December has proven how fragile our squad is and even more so with ACON and now we have an opportunity to really push on from a great position.. I know it's early days but with Mancs and Chelsea fast approaching I'd feel much more confident knowing we are strengthened and the owners realised the position we are in and what needs to be done in order to be where the club deserves to be
Nebraska Red Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Then what is relevant? If Toys R Us open a new superstore? One of our helicopters crashes into one of our yachts? Football team improves squad in January using money is the news. But it is only improvement if the players bought add to the quality of the squad. Just spending money because there is a window is stupid.
smithdown Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 The idea there isn't quality out there is what's stupid. Nobody is saying lash it on Balotelli again ffs
Nebraska Red Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 The idea there isn't quality out there is what's stupid. Nobody is saying lash it on Balotelli again ffsWho is out there in the shop window that will make us better?
smithdown Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 That's was spending money for the sake of it, the stupid tw*ts spent out Suarez cash last minute on Balotelli. That's them, not us who support the team. NR - pay me a grand a week and I will find you a feckin player. I spotted Suarez before and I will spot him again.
Ibby Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Who is out there in the shop window that will make us better? How the f*** should we know? The club is paying f***ing scouts and championship manager analysts to find players are you saying they can't f***ing find any?
Barnesy_10 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 How the f*** should we know? The club is paying f***ing scouts and championship manager analysts to find players are you saying they can't f***ing find any?Exactly... Does my head in when people say 'who is out there?' like it's our job to identify them and if we can't then it justifies not spending the money
Nebraska Red Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Who is out there? It's based on players who are asking for moves, those not happy and also clubs being open to offers. It's not a demand for fans to get on the phone.
Barnesy_10 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Who is out there? It's based on players who are asking for moves, those not happy and also clubs being open to offers. It's not a demand for fans to get on the phone. Is it a rhetorical question? None of us are privvy to even 1% of all that info... Scouts and the people paid to do that at the club are. None of us predicted Wijnaldum or even half the signings we went for in the summer.. Chances are the next player we sign none of us will be familiar with either. Point is that it's not our job to choose the players but it's our job as fans to have an opinion that our squad might not be strong enough to get where we need to be by the end of the season
kop205 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Then what is relevant? If the players Klopp wants are gettable. I reckon they probably are/could be made to be, but Everton buying more Manc rejects and unproven kids does f*** all to prove that. Which is the point.
smithdown Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 What's relevant is our sell to buy policy. It stinks.
D.Boon Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Who is out there in the shop window that will make us better?Yeah come on smithy. Give us a top ten breakdown by continent and position.
