All.

I managed to get on the 830am flight with my missus and got to Heathrow by 8pm. My boy called us as we were getting the car and said that Mam had taken a turn for the worse after a brief rally. We raced down the M4 updating my boy and he kept Mam updated. She was failing fast. Literally we were giving five minute updates. We got to her bedside just after midnight. She gestured right away that she knew we were there. The a few minutes later she acknowledged us telling how much we all loved her. Then she drifted off. Ten minutes after us getting there. Typical of her. Gritted it out to the very end.

She was an amazing woman. Dorothy was functionally illiterate, loved her kids and grandkids and stayed married to, and loved and stayed married to my Dad for nearly 65 years. She worked on the line in WW2 manufacturing shells at the ammo plant. She saw three of her four kids die before her. She lived in the same two bedroom house that she was born in her entire life. Met two Presidents and Mike Tyson. And everyone who ever met her loved her and remembered her. She was all love, all the time.

It means the world at times like this. I really mean that. We all have our debates, conflicts and banter. But the truth is, we have become a real community and group of friends with divergent interests and beliefs. But we we talk among each other all the time and we are now 15 years in and counting. I've changed so much in that time and have a lot to thank you all for from a developmental, philosophical, and intellectual standpoint. You are special people in my life and I think we all are in each other's.

It's times like this that makes you realize how special this all is.
