LFC4Life Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 The Greatest Manager in the history of the game, bar none.
The Faith Healer Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Is that Wilcox with the yellow shirt and red and white cap at 2.14? It looks like him, but that would mean he didn't really change in 20-30 years, because he looked exactly as I knew him in the late 90s.... He must be early 30s there?
Cheesecake Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I watched half of it, god the TV media has changed a lot, struggled tbh and I loved Bob.
dorgie Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) Delighted this surfaced. Really enjoyed it. First thing I noticed was it was all "manly" handshakes initially and no hugging until Shanks came on and a bear hug ensued Would be great if a video of Shanks episode of This is your Life came to light. Apparently all copies in Thames were destroyed and only an audio is available. Edited December 9, 2016 by dorgie
smithdown Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Just been reading about the 8th army in Italy and what a difficult show it was. Funny to think of Our Bob blasting f*ck out of their tanks with the lads - including my granddad - all the way up the east coast, over the mountains and into Rome. Quite an achievement right there. Then he goes and wins all the European Cups. Good lad.

I know most of us on here don't give a toss about knighthoods and royalty, but I suspect it would've meant a lot to him, his wife and his family.
smithdown Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 We joke about that line from 77 - "the last time I was here I was riding on top of a tank" but that must have been said with some feeling. They'd fought yard by yard and house to house up and down cliffs and through swamps, deserts and mountains to get there. No wonder he was happy with a pot of tea after the match and wanted to take it all in. It'd make for a good play that, just him sat off with his thoughts looking on.
