Advice required: Tenant rights re alternative accommodation property not habitable

All,

Family are in pretty high quality accommodation, but yesterday the boiler had it's annual gas inspection test, failed and has been taken out of use by the inspector.  Then later that evening the carbon monoxide alarms started triggering on ground and 1st floor. The only floor that was clear was top floor, this is still the case in the morning.

So we have no hot water, heating and only two rooms are safe to use.  What are our rights in terms of, for instance, demanding alternative accommodation / hotel / B&B until carbon monoxide issue is resolved?

Thanks
