Earl Hafler Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 A magnificent player, a back catalogue of goals including the impossible and responsible for some of the happiest moments of my life. Cheers, Stevie.
Mike Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Unquestionably one of the all time greats of the game, how privileged we were to see him develop into the greatest midfielder of his era.
Cobs Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 what a player, what a career. they'll sing about your slip, they'll sing you never won the league. THEY can all get to f*ck. In amongst the myriad of great moments & goals, atop the pile sits Istanbul, Stevie. We'll always have that. A truly sensational night. Thanks for it all.
Stanley Leisure Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Absolute privilege to see him play over the years. We'll be lucky to see another player as talented and loyal put on the shirt again.
bazdev Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Fabulous player and deserves all the credit he gets
Conrad Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 a privilege indeed, to see him in the flesh over the years. remember one of his earlier games, home to coventry I think, got the ball in the right back position outside our area and pinged it 65 yards to the left wing outside their area, right on the toe of its target just amazing to watch wonderful player let's win #19 for him this season
épieur Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 a privilege indeed, to see him in the flesh over the years. remember one of his earlier games, home to coventry I think, got the ball in the right back position outside our area and pinged it 65 yards to the left wing outside their area, right on the toe of its target I remember that pass, but it was Alonso who did it for spain a good while back. Commentator didn't even mention it.
Swipe Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Peerless. Can't think of another midfielder like him when he was at his marauding peak.
Tobes Rafa Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Bring him back in January so he can get the winners' medal he fully deserves
Hassony Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Whenever I saw him live, he just looked twice as tall as anyone else on the pitch, just oozed authority and class
Bailo Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Amazing player. Will never see his type again from within. Loads of mancs bringing up his transfer requests, ignoring Rooney doing the same. Odd.
beemer Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Bring him back in January so he can get the winners' medal he fully deservesDon't you need to play 10 games to get a medal? might be a risk...
Benitez Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Don't you need to play 10 games to get a medal? might be a risk... apparently he retired today, not seen anything about it though.

Nerik Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Absolute privilege to see him play over the years. We'll be lucky to see another player as talented and loyal put on the shirt again. Don't think we ever will. Few players, especially of his calibre, are one club men. We were very fortunate to have him play for us. Most complete player of his generation. A force of nature.

Nerik Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Two clubs ;-) Yeah hehe. One club man at top level football.
Earl Hafler Posted November 24, 2016 Author Posted November 24, 2016 Absolute privilege to see him play over the years. We'll be lucky to see another player as talented and loyal put on the shirt again.Arguably the only complete player of his generation. Some, like Zidane, had genius and were superior in certain aspects but you couldn't realistically play Zidane at right back
Gethin Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Some viewing here for those with time https://youtu.be/mNnsv88Ea6s We all know how good he was but there's hardly a tap in amongst that lot. Goals that most players would kill for wouldn't get in his top 20
