Mac OS - Sierra - external HD issue

I upgraded my OS to Sierran and now it no longer can see my external HD that I backup to. I checked the HD on my work machine that hasn't been upgraded and it's fine.

 

I searched this & found it's common. You have to install a file from the Seagate website - NTFS for mac (Paragon driver for Mac OS) but when I do and go to open the dmg file I just get a message that says the dmg is damaged. 

 

Anyone able to help?
