pipnasty Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I was talking to a friend a few days ago who has been diagnosed with aspergers a few years and we were talking about the concept of being sorry and showing that you are sorry. He says that he has never said that he is sorry in his entire life because 1. He didn't mean to do something and therefore can't be sorry for it or 2. If he did mean to do something, then there must have been a good reason for him to do something and that he therefore can't be sorry for this either as it would have been the other persons fault for giving him this reason. And therefore you should apologise to him all though he will never accept your apology. He says that he knows for a fact that he will never say sorry for anything ever. I asked if there was a danger of him repeating the same old mistakes over and over again and he said that if there was, then it wouldn't be his fault either. Logic could not move him on this position! Anybody else got any experience of aspergers? The whole thing wrecked my head a little to be honest.
