The Faith Healer Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 City of Liverpool Football Club. http://www.colfc.co.uk/ Tuesday 4th October 2016 Home (Bootle FC) v Oswestry Town 7.45pm kick off. Best Winter Coat As everybody knows, Scousers invented football fashion.Until our boys started going off to Europe in the mid 1970's, everyone at football matches was dressed abysmally. Budgie jackets, Birmo bags (kecks) and even 3 star jumper's were spotted every now and then?Within a few short years, everyone was dressing like us (well sort of!) and then claiming to have started the trend, but everybody knows the true strory.Since then terrace fashions have developed, but one thing does not change; scousers want to look good at the match, starting with the trainees and the jeans, but most importantly with the Winter Coats. So COLFC is running a Winter Coat Competition, to find the best dressed COLFC supporter this winter. We have a panel of experts to consider entries including Jockey (owner of scouse super-brand Transalpino), Thomas Keiner (German national who moved to Liverpool because of scouse terrace fashions) Chairmao (once very dapper but now too fat to carry off anything good) & Daniel Nicholson (owner of Distant Echo & Steeple Pine). We will be awarding points for Style, Artistic Impression, Accesorising & Scouse Attitude and invite entries via Photogragh only at any COLFC match home or away.We will display some of the entries on this page moving forward, so send your photographs to contact@colfc.co.uk using the subject "Winter Coat"The winner may well win some kind of Prize, but much more importantly will be the Kudos of being COLFC's best dressed supporter (both Adult & Junior prizes will be awarded).Rare night off work for me, get yer coats out for the lads...Dependant upon weather conditions of course???
Molby Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Hope this all works out Interesting fact: Dan Nicholson once sued meAnd won.......
The Faith Healer Posted December 8, 2016 Author Posted December 8, 2016 http://www.colfc.co.uk/news/ The team from Gillette Soccer Saturday featuring Johnny Phillips are coming to film about COLFC on Saturday 10th December at the home game with Holker OB, with the film going out the following Saturday 17th December. Johnny will be looking to interview Directors, Management, Players & Partisans. As well as the home game with Holker and Sky Sports visiting, the 10th is also our Christmas Party, so maybe Johnny & the Team will join us at the Picturedrome to carry on filming. Anyway, the 10th is gonna be a boss day and perhaps this could be our first 1000+ crowd as we are sure the Partisans (and especially Junior Partisans) will want to come along and be a part of the filming, so long as the great British weather doesn't ruin it!
bsl Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Don't know if there are many purps on this forum so I'll provide an update. We're currently second in an incredibly tight table, any one of 6 clubs can win the title, never mind get automatic promotion by finishing second, or going up through the playoffs. We're in a cup semi final with a potential final against our landlords Bootle, and in another cup final to be played on May bank holiday Monday against Sandbach. Sadly the fixture list has thrown us a blank Saturday today, when our aspiration of 1000 fans at a home game might have been possible due to the weather and the international weekend. Anyone who wants to get down to one of our games will be impressed with the atmosphere, the ale and the football on show, and the next 6 weeks or so might even rival LFC's 2001 season climax!
bsl Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Update: we beat a poor Eccleshall team 4-0 at home last night in the first of 4 home games in 8 days.We also scored our 100th and 101st league goals in 35 games.Attendance was 418. We remain 2nd in the table.
bsl Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Update.A 6-1 win at home last night against Carlisle City. Teams above and below us also won, we remain second in the League. Sold our allocation of Reusch cup final tickets last night, and we play another semi final tomorrow in the Macron Cup, first leg against Chadderton. Beginning to feel like LFC in 2001!

bsl Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 First defeat of 2017 last night, 0-2 at home against Chadderton in the Macron cup semi-final 1st leg.We put out a weakened team having played on Tuesday and with a huge league game Vs Alsager on Saturday, but it backfired and we may have lost the chance of a second final of the season. It was made worse by the 93rd minute mistake by our LB who let in Paul Scholars son Aaron who won the penalty which led to their second.
drdooom Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 That is some Mourinho-like throwing your left back under the bus there, bsl!

bsl Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 That is some Mourinho-like throwing your left back under the bus there, bsl!He deserved it mate! He's the assistant manager, doesn't usually play and he ducked under a ball over the top even though he could see Scholes was gonna reach it. Bizarre decision. I wouldn't be slagging any of the regular players for a mistake but this was ridiculous honestly!
Vlad JNR Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Going on Friday and then to the beer festival. Looking forward to it.

bsl Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Going on Friday and then to the beer festival. Looking forward to it.Brilliant timing, a game and a piss up on Good Friday. They play each other soon though and we play Charnock at home, that'll be a very tough game. The only thing that's certain is that if we will all our remaining 5 games, we'll go up automatically, either in 1st or 2nd place.
bsl Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Two bad performances over easter have more than likely cost us automatic promotion.Drew two all on Friday against St Helens at Prescot Cables.More memorable for the brilliant party afterwards where we drunk a 3 day beer festival dry on its first night. Try and catch some videos from Cables' clubhouse on YouTube. Today was a record gate in our league this season,692. We lost at home to Cheadle, 1-2. Very poor display by the purples. Onwards we go, a chance to get to a 2nd final in May and play ourselves back into form before the promotion playoffs.
bsl Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 A great night for the Purps tonight. Went away to Chadderton for the Macron Cup semi-final 2nd leg, two nil down from the home leg.Scored twice in the last 7 mins and took it to extra time. No further score in ET so it went to pens where we trailed after missing our first kick but won eventually as our keeper saved their final 2 and we no play Barnoldswick in May at Fleetwood's ground #UTP

bsl Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Back to winning ways in the league on Saturday with a 4-0 home win against Prestwich Heys. All goals were scored in the 2nd half, the visitors barely threatening.Next up is 2nd place Charnock Richard at home on Tuesday. This is a must win game for the purples, that is to keep alive our slim chances of automatic promotion. Charnock themselves were beaten at Widnes on Saturday in a game that was virtually a title decider. Another defeat on Tuesday would give Colfc a small window of opportunity to snatch 2nd place depending how results go in the final round of fixtures this coming weekend. Watch this space.

bsl Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Big game at home tonight, we host Charnock Richard. They need a point to guarantee automatic promotion while we need a win to take the issue to the wire on Saturday. Big crowd expected, our last home game of a brilliant first league season.Apart from the significance of the result, should be a good game as we seek to avenge a 4-3 defeat at their place earlier in the season. UTP!
