Cobs Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 So we've played last year's top 3 already - beating Arsenal & Leicester, drawing with Spurs. Had we beaten Burnley I think we'd be bouncing up and down about our title chances right now. But the reality is we have performances like that in us, as well as in pockets of other matches when we seem to be playing well and doing things right. Still, no point in peaking this early. Now we've another massive test v Conte's Chelsea on Friday night. I'd take a draw right now - and I hate saying that. Mig Clyne Matip Lovren Milner Lallana Hendo Wijnaldum Mane Firmino Coutinho

Swipe Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Terry going over on his ankle at the end of the Swansea game here. Not sure it'd be a bonus if he was out on Friday, though.
Maldini Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Their back 4 was all over the shop second half.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 3-1 us should be 5 we're going to batter everyone before us this season bring on the c****
Case Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Same team. Leaving Sturridge out would be nuts.
Nerik Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Cahill might be in trouble for using Twitter to have a go at the ref's decision not to award a foul in the build up to Swansea's 2nd.
Cobs Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 Same team. Leaving Sturridge out would be nuts.Worked ok at the Emirates. Love Sturridge but away from home in the big games he needs to be fitter / provide more work-rate without the ball. Signs are good, after yesterday, that he's getting there though.Cahill might be in trouble for using Twitter to have a go at the ref's decision not to award a foul in the build up to Swansea's 2nd.Unless he's deleted a tweet I can't see too much wrong with what he's done there. Was a shocking decision.
whitewidow Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I think I dislike Chelsea under Conte even more than Chelsea under Mourinho. Which is weird
Stevie H Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I think I dislike Chelsea under Conte even more than Chelsea under Mourinho. Which is weird you don't really. david luiz playing in defence against us would be a nice bonus.
whitewidow Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 You are probably right. But another couple of Costa tantrums, Conte trying to grab the ball from an opposing player and Fabregas doing, well something that Fabregas would do and I may well have a case. Yes Luiz trying to deal with Mane and Bobby F would be most pleasant.
growler Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 No way take a draw. Our best results are against the teams that come at us. We may lose, but by no means is that the most likely outcome. I think we can win but like at Spurs will take the point.
Nerik Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I think I dislike Chelsea under Conte even more than Chelsea under Mourinho. Which is weird Conte is an irritating guy and always likes playing the victim. What makes him better than Mourinho is that he rarely has a pop at other managers or clubs.

sean Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I reckon we can hurt anyone that thinks they can take the game to us, as Chelsea surely will, albeit tentatively. I'm like Growler, not happy with a draw now based on our attacking play but defensively a point would be fine.
ThewaytoRome Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I predict that this will all get very messy. In a good or bad way?
PhilM Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Terry going over on his ankle at the end of the Swansea game here. Not sure it'd be a bonus if he was out on Friday, though. Imagine the state Mane would get him into.
Sion Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Luiz is going to play surely. We rely on pace and quick passing which would destroy Terry.
