Simon Hughes new book is a cracker.

Couple of things stood out for me

1. Rick Parry comes across very well in my opinion

2. Stevie was really self conscious

3. Torres deffo regrets leaving

4. Rafa and Houllier should have won the league with us. Its a bloody outrage

Really looking forward to it. His other two books (on the 80;s and 90;s were outstanding)

Reading Ian Salmon's book on last season at present (They say our days are numbered). Obviously doesn't have a European Cup in it, but it's utterly brilliant so far, mixing life and football and football and life.

And I'm still at the stage where Rodgers is still managing us, so it'll get even better. Might not read the last chapter, mind.

By the way, does anyone know what's happened with Tony Evans' Two Tribes (our rivalry with Everton). Has it been pulled?

What was Torres reasons for leaving ? People alluded to it being personal rather than H&G

I'd imagine Rafa being sacked and replaced by Hodgson was a factor. That change set us back years.

Some mealy mouthed crap about being promised we'd compete and buy good players but we never did. It wasn't the revelation people were making out at the time. It was pretty much what we all expected.

Plus the 'revelation' that he wasn't actually a Liverpool fan and just wanted to win trophies.

More of a revelation that he went back on his claim about passion for 'working class clubs' (LFC, Atletico) that were integrated with their community, close to the fans etc. to join the very epitome of a rich mans plaything and archetype of a football club as the artifically manufacured product of capitalist/gangster excess and greed

A bit ironic considering we bought one of our best ever players that window.
