Given that the Guardian have just published their Liverpool preview article, here is a round-up of some others so far

Guardian
Prediction: 6th

There is no European football for Liverpool to savour this term and that should focus minds on repairing the six-point gap that separated the teams in fourth and eighth last time out. Rodgers was castigated in 2013 for claiming Liverpool would benefit without Europe for one season only. He was vindicated during the season that followed as the club went closer than ever to winning the Premier League.

Karl Matchett raises some legitimate concerns

Liverpool ended last season capable of some terrific football, but missing many chances. They were also lax defensively in the channels, didn’t have much aerial domination and could be physically bullied in midfield.

How many of those failings have been addressed over summer, and how many are likely to be in place for the opening day? Results over the first month won’t necessarily dictate Liverpool’s entire season, but a positive result or two (or four) against big rivals is surely a must. Liverpool took eight points from the corresponding fixtures against Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester and Chelsea last season, but Spurs finished much the stronger side in league form and Chelsea have strengthened enormously over the summer.

The National
Sometime ESPN writer Richard Jolly:

Liverpool have only begun genuinely well once in the last seven years and then, in 2013/14, they mounted their only title challenge. Too often they have been playing catch-up, usually unsuccessfully. Now their first three games are away, because of the rebuilding of Anfield’s Main Stand, and they have early dates with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Predicted finish: 4th

NBC Sports

Without European soccer, Liverpool could push for the top four. If you look at the teams who finished above them last season, the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham will all be there or there abouts again. Leicester City, West Ham, Southampton all finished above Liverpool but could slip below them and then you have Chelsea, who surely won’t be as bad this season under Antonio Conte. Simply put: plenty of things will have to go right for Liverpool to finish in the top four and although they have the attacking players capable of achieving it, defensive frailties mean a top six finish is much more likely.

I think we'll win it, narrowly, ahead of Utd, with Spurs and City third/fourth.

Chelsea will be hard to beat, but seem to lack goals.  Arsenal can be got at in defence unless Xhaka and Elneny really step up, and if both play then they are missing a forward player.  Spurs have signed very well IMO and will probably do some more business.

Spurs have signed very well IMO .

Two players. A carthorse of a centre mid and a young forward from Holland. We should all be afraid.

Every one of their fans I've spoken to - and it's a fair few, I work in bleeding Finchley - can't get over how little business they've done and is worried about the coming season.

Wonder how much they're hamstrung by the new stadium.

They had real problems last year with squad depth and got lucky with injuries. The players replacing Kane, Eriksen and Ali weren't good enough.

I think our problem is we could very well be bottom half by October because of the fixture list. If we're within touching distance of the top 4 by then I think we should easily make it.

Yeah, outside their first 11 they look really thin

Have Chelsea really strengthened enourmously?

Kante's good and that unproven Belgian striker...anyone else?

Depends how they use that Belgian striker. I can't see him initially being one of the first names on the team sheet and what formation will Conte use ?

City have strengthened best. Aguero is probably loving the idea of Nolito and Sané supplying him instead of that f***wit Navas and if they need a little push in January than Gabriel can come in - he's a striker really, despite Sky referring to him as a winger.

Their whole squad should be more highly motivated under Guardiola.

Janssen is 50-1 to be top scorer - can't see that being the case by Christmas. He appears to be ideal for playing off Kane and Eriksen.

Conte has said he wants to play two strikers, so perhaps 352

City have brought in some good players,  but their defence is still the same and with Kompany's injury issues they still remain

I hate this "lets go for 4th" b******s, lets go all the way

It's like going on a date with scarlet johanson and aiming for a hand job

Cant really blame a neutral for thinking we'll be circa 6th. There's loads of good teams and we normally finish about there

y dnt u fkn mry hm then?

Yep. And anyone who isn't a fan (and many who are!) would most likely put us in that bracket. All the teams already better than us have improved too obviusly. With a few more big signings to be made the next 3 weeks too most likely. It's gonna be one hell of a fight for all the Euro places, not just the CL places.

Anyone who really believes we are winning the title should be visiting the bookies.
