David Hodgson Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I'm going with: Karius ClyneLovrenMatip*f***ing anyone but him* CanHendersonCoutinho ManeOrigiSturridge bench: FirminoLallanaSakhoGomez*new midfielder*MilnerMing I'd keep Benteke too.
McBain Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I'd expect a continuation of 4231 next season for the most part. Not 433
downunder Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I reckon Grujic will be on teh bench as new midfielder. And Flanno will be the *f***ing anyone but him* before the end of the transfer window I expect Allen and Lucas to be off, along with Ibe. By the end of the season, Ojo, will be first team regular. (my predictions)
Romario Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 So many options up top. Coutinho, firmino, lallana, mane, ojo, lazar, sturridge, ings, origi, benteke and ibe. That 11 players for 4 positions. Some have got to be moved on right?

Cunny Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Klopp loves Firmino. I see him starting most games.Still not convinced Coutinho is here next season.
épieur Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Think we will continue as we were and swap lallana for Mane. so Henderson-CanMane-Firmino-CoutinhoSturridge Wouldn't be surprised if Gomez captures a first team spot sooner rather than later.

épieur Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Henderson ffs You will have to get used to it for now. He's the captain. Also, if he makes a proper recovery and return to form, there is no reason to bemoan it either.
David Hodgson Posted June 29, 2016 Author Posted June 29, 2016 I thought you rated Ibe but he isn't on your bench?I'm assuming he's sold.
Dan Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Don't see why he'd revert to 4-3-3. 4-2-3-1 clearly his favoured formation. However, if he was going 4-3-3 the case for Allen staying would be stronger.
David Hodgson Posted June 29, 2016 Author Posted June 29, 2016 I'd expect a continuation of 4231 next season for the most part. Not 433There's not a lot between those two formations. In that, both of them are 451s (lone striker systems) that tend to either morph into 4-1-4-1s or 4-4-1-1s I'm seeing more of an attacking emphasis in the set up with Mane available. Last half of last term we'd typically get either Lallana or Firmino closest to the striker, but they'd also get very deep and involved in midfield. I don't see this happening with Mane. He's much more of a striker than Firmino for one, and Lallana for definite. If Mane players centrally with either one of Sturridge or Origi, I think we'll look very 442 at times. If he plays wide with both, then we might see a return to some of that dynamic we had between Sterling, Sturridge and Suarez in 13/14. We'll see.

Interesting to look at who isnt in that list... Ings, Moreno, Marko, Benteke, Flano, Allen, Lucas The more you look at Marko, Benteke, Ings, the more you think one of them is out. Similar with the midfielders, at least one out.

Benteke is surely out when the first offer lands. Midfielder is tricky. There is no one I really want to see leave. Yet we could do with someone a level above our current crop. If no one comes in, I can see all of them stay. Incidentally, I think klopp is far more patient with youngsters like Ibe than many of our fans are.
The_Adder Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 (edited) Karius Clyne - Matip - Sakho - Gomez Can - Allen Mane - Firmino - Coutinho Sturridge Ideally get Dahoud in for Allen and an actual left back to play left back. Lovren in for Sakho if banned. Edited June 29, 2016 by The_Adder
ThewaytoRome Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 We need that left back and playmaker Henderson can be back up
Barnesy_10 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I am expecting a high profile exit.. Probably Coutinho like said above
sutty Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I am expecting a high profile exit.. Probably Coutinho like said above If he does go, it'd be at top whack surely? In which case you'd expect more big ins.
yellow jumper Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 the first xi to start with as likely to be shaped as much by who's there from beginning of pre-season. beyond that, not convinced as others that lallana, firmino, and origi now going to be more regular bench players.
Barnesy_10 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 If he does go, it'd be at top whack surely? In which case you'd expect more big ins. How much are we thinking Coutinho is worth? I reckon £45m
RedHarvest Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 How much are we thinking Coutinho is worth? I reckon £45mLess than Sterling? No way. Gotta take advantage of the inflated market and get similar to what we got for SuarezNot that I want him to leave, that would be a step backward
sutty Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 How much are we thinking Coutinho is worth? I reckon £45m In the current market and where he'd likely go and the fact he's just signed a new deal, I think you're looking a fair bit upwards of that.

I can't see us getting over £50m for him though
