Christianity and Democracy and Social Democratic values

I think democracy can accept Christianity but I don't see how Christianity can accept Social democratic values. I just think that it has to cede too much to the point where it loses too much of what it is about. There's definite overlap of course in some areas but in others they are violently opposed.

 

If you genuinely believe that doing x will condemn you/your nation to eternal, inconceivable, immeasurable suffering, how are you just going step back and let the state create a level playing field. No humane being would watch a love one just drive towards a cliff and say it is their right to do so.
