Swan Red Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 When YNWA started there was pretty strict enforcement of what is and isn't allowed when disagreeing with posters, since then enforcement has been relaxed and there's more abusive type posting allowed pass. Given that I'm occasionally in the middle of it I'm reluctant to moderate for personal abuse but I don't know what others think. I generally post more political stuff on a US centric politics forum where views on tone and abuse are somewhat different. There are also more substantive disagreements and tone policing is more likely to warrant criticism than tone. I also get to disagree with everyone which suits but there's often less weight given to being abusive towards people and pretty low tolerance of views that are bigoted. As a result I have no idea where people think the line is or want the line to be. I kinda think we're grown ups and if people post like a prick other posters should be free to point that out. The suggestion that it may cross over into bullying concerns me a little, partly because I don't want to bully anyone and partly because I don't always see it like that and may well be off. There's a couple of occasions when I think I'd have been better off being a bit more relaxed but otherwise I'm alright letting people have their disagreements.
