when do we think the home games v Chelsea and Everton will be?

trying to plan trips away here, ta

I'm expecting us to play the loser of their last 16 fa cup match on quarter final weekend. It would make the most sense anyway...

these are the QFs aren't they?

there are already premier league games planned

semi-finals are April 23/24 -

Crystal Palace v Everton

Bournemouth v Chelsea

Liverpool v Newcastle

So, it will not be that weekend, as both ourselves and Newcastle have been knocked out.

Oh yeah. Ignore me then. I presumed there were no PL games that week.

There's not a free weekend between now and the end of the season if you factor in one of them still being in the FA Cup and international breaks (end March)

If we progress, Europa QFs are 7/14 April, SF are 28 April / 5 May (and same midweeks for CL if Chelsea progress)

So that only leaves midweeks 19/20 April & 11/12 May that are definitely free at the moment.

I guess they'll make decisions after this round of European games as additional midweeks get freed up if both us and Chelsea are out.

So basically you're not going anywhere until June.

apparently televised games aren't allowed to clash with UEFA tournaments even if neither team involved in the competiton-UEFA wanting a monopoly on tv coverage-both these games were meant to be on SKY, therefore only free midweeks are 19th/20th April and 10th/11th May so guess they will be then

Arsenal are playing tonight - albeit it's a Cup not League, match - so carry on.

s***e rule though.

There's a risk that they get a kicking from UEFA apparently.

I think there's a "when the f*** else are we supposed to do it" exception somewhere

The FA/Premier League are going to have to do something about the fixture pile-up, imagine if we were still in the FA Cup, we'd be playing an average of more than 3 games a week for the rest of the season. It's actually designed to be a mess because of the FA Cup, from a certain point on some teams are playing league games when others are still in the cup and it can affect title chances and relegation if you're playing catch-up on a rival.

18 Team Premier League (rest of leagues could do with fewer teams too-amount of midweek Championship games is ridiculous)

FA Cup replays abolished or made optional to teams involved

Capital 1 semi 1 leg neutral ground

Europa League back to a straight knockout competition and played where possible Wednesday on non Champions League weeks

none of the above will happen due to money but would all shave a number of games off a season

2, 3 and 4 are all very doable without messing anything up too much

I think we'll see cup replays gone very soon. Especially if England bomb out of the Euros.

Arsenal's game at the weekend now rearranged because they went through, farcical. No respect for people travelling to the game.

Had they already set off?

think you would get a fair argument from those clubs in the Football League who get pushed out by reducing the number of clubs involved.

We should have one Premier League of 12 teams and 9 ten-team Leagues below that, like Scotland.

Just think - If Everton ever got promoted, we could have 4 derbies a season.

would agree and feel for them and thats why it wouldn't happen as turkeys wouldnt vote for xmas, but could make prem 18 teams, Championship 20, League 1 20, then have league 2 north and South 20 teams, total of 98 league teams which would mean putting 6 up from the national league.

Clubs wouldn't go for it as it would mean so many going down a division, however the fans have got to be put first, how many widweek and Sunday home games have Liverpool had this season? fans are expected to stump up money at the start of the season for season tickets and get messed around all the time. My mate is a Wolves season ticket holder they have had 13 games moved for Sky and have around 12-14 midweek league games every season which is absolutely ridiculous

We would be in a relegation battle this season if this is the case

If?

The thing is since Uefa have let everyone in but the dog and duck under 9's this time around we will at least make it through the group stage. A QF exit is likely on the cards though.

When we get beat in major tournies though it is never actually to do with too many games/tired players and all to-do with English players being a rung below. That never gets mentioned by the press.

It's also 102 teams
