SEO I believe stands for 'Search Engine Optimisation'.  A pal of mine has been worrying about a new business they've set up hiring bikes where we live in Scotland.  The website was written by themselves using Wix, which I'm not familiar with at all, and they've gone through the tutorials setting up metatags such as 'Bike Hire', 'Bicycle Hire', 'Isle of Skye Bike Hire' and so on and so forth, all of which seems reasonable to me.

BUT - If you type in 'Isle of Skye Bike Hire' in Google, Bing, etc... Nothing for them.  Businesses which went bust ages ago, yeap - they're there, but not this new business.

So can anyone in the know about SEO's and the like give me or them any advice / pointers?

Perhaps too broad a question, but how do small businesses move up the greasy search poles of Google / Bing etc?

Thanks in advance, as per, you wonderful brainiacs.
